most fiillhful bickering over minor matters. To rebuko them, he . washed the feet of those who 1 served him. Jesus realized. ns did every one, of those crowded Into the upper' chamber of the house of Mary, the mother of John Luke, that he| was the leader. It wax he who pointed the way. who blazed the) trail; and those who followed Itiin j were fur In’erior In i very respect, i Yet he sought to show them that tasks even so menial could he I done by the highest. Humility described uh; (hi* proper estimation of ones! worth and the ability not to make an offensive display because of it. The greatest men are the simplest. Washington, Jeffen on. Lincoln—all men of more than marked ability were simple souls Their greatness had given them the ability to reduce conditions and tnea to their essential qualities; and to bring themselves to the same state. , To succeed, one must know Ills own worth. He must be introspective. He must estimate his faults and his strength, strike the best balance possible, pnd do his utmost to strengthen his weaknesses and make the most of his I opportunities. But humility must be retained the ability th keep a level head | in the event of great success or 1 a smiling face in the depths of adversity. A true estimate of ones own valuation, without ostentatious expression, is true humility. .I '■ n ———— ■ Decatur Circuit U. B. Church Rev. W. O.
