LADIES AID SOCIETY HAS REGULAR MEETING Twenty-five ladies of the Preslby-1 terian Ladies Aid Society met at line home of Mis. Bert Haley on High street, Thursday afternoon for the regular meeting. Mrs. Phil Macklin, president, had charge of the business session when a nominating committee was appointed. Following the business, a social hour was enjoyed and light refreshments were served by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. James Elberson and Mrs. William A folder. This was the first meeting of tlhe new year. MISSION STUDY CLASS HELD LAST THURSDAY ihe members of the Women’s Missionary Association of the United Brethren Church held a Mission Study class meeting at the home of Mrs. R. E. The meeting was opened with prayer and at the noon hour a covered dish dinner was I served. Y. B. Class of the United Brethren Sunday School met at the home of Mrs. George Myers, Thursday evening, for the regular meeting. Assisting hostesses were the Mesdames O. P. Mills and Lucinda Johnson. The regular bus ness meeting was held and a new member, Mrs. R. E. Roop was weicomed into tlje class. During the social hour which followed several contests were enjoyed and Mrs. R. E. Vance was successful in two of the contests. Re.reshments were served by the hostesses at the close of the evening. At left is Judge Benjamin N. Cardozo, of the New York State Court of Appeals, who is said to be under consideration. Right,is Judge Curtis D Wilbur, of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Judge Wilbur was Secretary of the Navy in the Coolidge Cabinet and is a close personal friend of President Hoover.
