Mrs. Nick Braun and Mrs. Jesse Kuhn were winners of the high score prizes in bridge. Mrs. Schmitz served a luncheon to the club members. The next meet ing will be held with Mrs. Charles Omlor, the week following Thanksgiving. Stoppenhagen of near Fort Wayne, was solemnized at six o'clock Saturday evening at the parsonage of the Concordia Lutheran church. Rev. Walter Klausing, pastor, received file'wedding vows. A program was presented including a piano solo by Ruth Porter. a reading by Zulu Porter, a vocal solo by Mrs. B. H. Franklin. a duet by Harriet Gilson, and! May Merriman, and a reading by Mrs. B. J. Rice. The Misses Mary Maxine Martin and Ruth Porter sang a vocal duet, and the three' Porter sisters played a piano trio while Miss Harriet Gilson presented a reading. Several contests including an i' egg blowing, a cutting contest,' and a corn shelling contest were enjoyed, with Mrs. Enoch Eady receiving the prize. During the Imsiness meeting i the ladies voted to not have the I annual Christmas exchange th's year but to use the money so charity instead. Merville Sorg and Kenneth Kintz of Toledo. Ohio stopped in this city enroute to Kansas City, and were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Miller and family. John Applegate and Cart Wainwright of Oak Harbor, Ohio are spending several days visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ed Miller and other friends here. Donald Arnold, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Arnold was brought i home from school Monday after- i noon because of illness. The lad is I a pupil of the seventh grade. He is still very sick today. J. G. Gattschall left Tuesday night for Indianapolis, where he is a delegate from the local Odd Fellows Lodge to the Grand Lodge in session there. Miss Dorothy Miller returned Tuesday from Fort Wayne where she had spent the week visiting with relatives and friends. Schmitz motored to Fort Wayne this aft moon where they visited with friends Mrs. John Hessler of Fort Wayne is in a serious condition at the St. Joseph hospital it was learned today. Mrs. Hessler underwent an operation Tuesday for the removal of her left eye, back of which were found cancers. Her condition was pronounced ■ critical. Mrs. Hessler formerly i lived in Decatur. Miss Betty Macklin was the overnight guest of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Tyndall at Bluffton. Miss Ruth Pusey of Geneva attended the Adams County School Convention held here Tuesday evening. Miss Pauline Niblick who has been convalescing at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Niblick North Fifth street, from a recent appendectomy left for Indianapolis to attend the State Board Examination of Nurses. Mrs. Fred Patterson was called to Terre Haute today on account of the critical illness of her mother, M.s. Sarah King.
