a group of women always willing to give their talents for use In musical programs for the club work. The chorus and ensemble work comprises most of the department women and they have given several cantatas. Mrs. L. A. Holthouse, prominent musical artist, is chairman of the department. The program for the musical department for the year is Interesting. The first number, which takes place in November, is a reciprocity program with the Portland Music Club furnishing the program. Later in the year the local mueic department will give a return program at Portland. Literature Department The Literature department plans to bring worth while speakers before the club this year. The first speaker will be Judge C. C. Carlin of Angola. The department will also have charge of one program in honor of the George Washington Bi-Centennial celebration to be observed all over the United States during the coming year. This program will be held Monday evening. February 22, the date of Washington’s birthday. The Woman’s Club is planning to plant trees in honor of Washington, as this project is urged throughout the state. Mrs. Henry Heller will head this department as chairman this winter. Dramatic Department The Dramatic department with its 25 members of excellent dramatic ability, never fail to please the large audiences before which they appear arid the plays that they present take the place of the Little Theatre movement of many of the larger cities. Miss Grace Coffee is the chairman of this department. Art Department One of the newest departments of the Woman's Club is the Art department, and it has presented some very fine programs. This year the group is planning to bring before the women of Decatur and all clubs of the county and school children interested in art, a fine collection of pictures from the John Herron Art Institute of Indianapolis. The Art department has been instrumental during the past three years of presenting to the club, some of our outstandiitg Indiana artists and their collections of paintings, all of which have gained recognition at the Hoosier Art Salon in Chi cago. Study Meetings The various departments of the club hold separate study meetings once a mouth for a more detailed stiMiy of their subjects and are exceedingly interesting and helpful to the members. Junior Arts Department Three years ago. under the presidency of Mrs John W. Tyn dail the Junior Arts Department which is sponsored by the Woman's Club, was organized and a group of 30 High school girls, preferably daughters of Woman’s Club members, who- comply with requirements of the department, were given the privilege of club work of three departments represented, music, drama and art. Each department is directed by some member of the corresponding department of the adult club. Some very effective work has lueen accomplished by the Junior Arts department. The program for this department is nearing completion and it is hoped much good can be accomplished through this medium. Associate Department The women of the Associate department have the privileges of the club proper, to attend the regular meetings, and gain the contact of club women at large. It is hoped that every member will make reservations for the banquet to be held next Monday evening, through the department chairmen. W. C. T. u PLANS COUNTY MEETING will talk on "Where Liquor Flows In Mexico," and Mrs. Eugene Run yon and Mrs. Henry Adler of Decatur «wil sine a vocal duet. Rev. Lusk of Geneva will give the principal address, and Mrs. Louie Neaderhouser of Berne will talk on ’’Prohibition on the Highways and Byways to the Western Coast." Mrs. C. E. Hocker of Decatur will give a resume of the "Glimpses of World's W. C. T. U. Convention at Toronto, Canada." It is hoped that a large number of women from the Decatur organization will attend this convention. o Aged Turtle Found Cottage Grove, Ore.. Sept. 29.— (U.R) — Weary and dusty, an aged land turtle, bearing the initials D B. I. L. L. and the date of June 21, 1919. was found by J. H.
