The affair was in the form of a kitchen shower. A pretty color note of white rose ! 1 orchid, peach, ami green, colors chosen by the bride-elect as the i bridal colors prevailed throughout i the lovely decorations. Cut garden | flowers were arranged profusely about the rooms in basket and vase bouquets. I Tables were arranged for playi ing bunco and prize for high score was awarded to Mrs. Florence Bollinger, while Mrs. Freeh Hower received the consolation prize. ' home. | The arch was entwined with rose | vines and the bridal cd*ors were | interwoven with the vines. The i larch was electrically lighted and i I beneath it was placed a chair, dec- i : orated with large bows of the pasjtel colored crepe paper. The Misses Hower and Hollinger stood on eithier side of the arch and presented i j Miss Thieme who was seated on , I the chair with a number of gifts I that were in a targe basket tied i i with the colors. A table, prettily i I decorated, was placed nepr the 1 ! arch to hold the unwrapped gifts. ; The Misses Hower and Bollinger I then led the honor guest into the i Miller home where the guests found their places at four small tables, which were laid with rose and white luncheon covers. Centering the tables were miniature arches, fashioned similar to the large arch arranged in the Miller lawn, with two tiny bridesmaids dressed in green and peach standing inside of , them. The places were marked | with individual corsages of the bridial colors, and the chair occupied I by Miss Thieme was prettily dec-j oiated with bows. Miss Thieme's place was further marked by a lovey wrist corsage. i A two course luncheon was servi ed by Mrs. Joe Smith, Mrs. J. C. FORMER LOCAL GIRL MARRIES BRYANT MAN The marriage of Miss Opal L.Walters of Redkey and daughter of Mis. Lulie Smith of this city and Ralph S. isch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Isch was performed Thursday by Justice of the Peace George Fry at his q{fice in Portland. The couple will live near Bryant where the groom is a farmer. — The Frivolity Club will meet with I Mrs. Waldo Eckrote. Wednesday evening at seven-thirty o'clock. The Ladies Aid Society of the Christian Church will meet Thursday afternoon at two-thirty o'clock with Mrs. Sol Lord. A good attendance is desired. FRIENDS ENJOY I PICNIC AT BERNE Mr. and Mrs. Leland Franks and children, Mrs. U W. Franks. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Crist, Miss Golda Limenstoll and Myron Franks of this city motored to Berne, Sunday afternoon where they enjoyed a picnic at Lehman’s Park. The musical p.ogram presented by the Berne Community was enjoyed doling the afternoon after which a picnic supper was served. ANNUAL REUNION HELD IN DECATUR The second annual Springer and i Brandyberry reunion was held Sunday, August 16 in the Legion Memorial Park in this city, with sixty nine relatives present. The oldest member of the family who attended the reunion was Syvilla Gross, seventy-three years of age; and the youngest, Louise Johnson, two months old. A delicious dinner was served al ■ the noon hour, after which a busi-' ness meeting was held, and the fol lowing officers were elected: Frank Brandyberry, president; Lester Richard, vice-president; Beulah Richards, secretary "and treasurer. Mrs. Addie Lobenstein. Mrs. Vio- : la Martz, and Mrs. Pearl Kreicher' were chosen as members of the program committee. It was decided to hold the next annua! reunion at the Lehman Park in Berne, next year. Mrs. Mary Ann Smith was the oldest member present and Miss Margaret Patrick was the youngest member. Games were played during the day and at the noon a picnic dinner was enjoyed. Officers elected for the coming year were W. E. Grush, Fort Wayne, president; Mrs. E. E. Archer. Fort Wayne, treasurer: Mrs. Charles Smith of this city, secretary. Ice cream and cake were served in the evening. Miss Eloise Noll, who is a student nurse at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne is spending a two weeks vacation wish her "parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Noll. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Myers, daughter Betty and son Norbert spent Sunday at Pretty Lake. Mr. and Mrs. James Sasser have returned to their home in Schenectedy, New York, after having spent the past month visiting with Mrs. Sasser’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L.
