INDIANS PLAN ANCIENT RITES Seminole; Okla.—ttJ.R)—Members of the five civilized Indian Tribes will reign supremely, free of white | man's domination, for a day,July 3,i when tribesman assemble here forj the greatest all Indian day in Oklahoma history. More than 2.500 Oherokees, Chocttaws, Seminoles. Chiokasaws and Creeks, scions of a once numerous ' lace, will pay tribute to their primi-! tive rituals, songs, dances and a feast. Buffalo, slain with bow and arrow, in the manner of the plains [ Indians, will be the food. White j man's hand will not touch it. The. buffalo will be slain and cooked by j the Indians, who will encircle a huge campfire to break the bread of j their ancestors. Indian dignitaries will lead the celebration.. Among them will be Chili Fish, a Seminole, who proudly | refused the appointment of Presid-; out Hoover as chieftan of his tribe, j The only woman chief of the Semi-j notes, Mrs. Alice It. Davis, will lead the parade. Chieftans and sub-chieftans, mounted on horses, will assume their tribal authorities in the par-; aile. Both men and women partici-j pate in Ihe Indian ball games.
