Mrs. R. K. Fleming was the assistant hostess. | The meeting was opened with devotionals conducted by Mrs. Fred Engle after which the business of the organization was discussed. Following the'business meeting and social hour of contests was enjoyed in the charge of Mrs. Mar tin Zimmerman and Mrs. Archie Long. The members decided at the meeting to change the time of meeting from seven-thirty o’clock to eight o’clock. The June meeting of the class wil be held with Mrs. John Spahr and Mrs. Lee Hilyard. TRI KAPPA SORORITY PLEDGES TWO NEW MEMBERS Mrs. William Bell and Mis. Herb t'urtla were hostesses to the members of the Tri Kappa sorority, Tuesday evening al the homo of Mrs. pell on Mercer avenue, where pledging services were held for two new niembere of the sorority, the Misses Marcella Gerber and Mar garei Kitson. kA short business session was held, after which the impressive pledging service was conducted. Small tables were arranged about the entertaining rooms, where a pt efusion of iris and other spring Howers were used ih decorations. Games of bridge were played, with the* result that Mrs. Lawrence* Linn and Mis. I. W. Macy received the (sorority prizes for high scores, and Miis Madge Hiie n eelved the guest prize. • The sorority presented the two pledges with lovely gifts. The small i lables were laid with linens and (centered wth a pretty arrangement of sweet peas and greenery. A dainty two course luncheon was served ( by the hostesses. The meeting of the Ladies Aid Society of the Christian Church 1 which was to have been held with Mrs. H. F. Kraft. Thursday afternoon has been postponed two weeks i on account of the illness of Mrs. Kraft’s mother. SORORITY MEMBERS ENJOY STEAK FRY The Members of the Delta Theta Tan sorority enjoyed a steak fry at the home of Miss Rosemary Holthouse, northeast of the city, Tuesday evening. A short business meeting was held, after which games were playied. The guests at the affair other than I the regular members were Mrs. Elizabeth Norwald Mrs. Mary Hoy, Mrs. Nora Barnes of Fort Wayne; and Mrs. Ed Whitright. A number of beautiful spring flowers were arranged about the entertaining rooms, ami three small tables were arranged tor games of. Bunco. Mrs. Whitright and Mrs. I Hoy received the guest prizes and Mrs. James Strickler and Mrs. James Gattshall received the club prizes. Following the games, the tables were laid with dainty linens and a delicious two course luncheon was served by the hostess. The next meeting of the club will * be held Tuesday evening. ('hesnut. pastor of the Third Presbyterian Church in Fort Waymg The wedding was marked by Its simple charm and an arrangement of palms and ferns formed the setting for the ceremony before th** double windows In the living room, Ira Gerlg played Mendelssohn's Bridal Chorus as Ihe bridal party took its place before the improvised altar. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of peach chiffon fashioned sleeveless and with a tiered skirt reaching to tin* floor. The waistline was marked with a velvet ribbon sash which was tied in front with streamers reaching to the hem *>f the gown. Her slippers were moire tinted to mutch her gown and her mils of lace were also of peach shade. She wore u diamond pendant a gift of the groom und carried flowers of lilies of the valley and butterfly roses. Miss Kathryn Bell sister of the groom the only attendant to the bride wore a poudre blue chiffon gown fashioned with a long full skirt made with godets finished at each side with tiny tucks. A pink velvet sash marked the waistline and her slippers were of pink moire. She carried pink Columbia roses. Following the wedding, a three course wedding dinner was served at the home, the guests seated at two large* tables. The bride's table was centered with a three-tiered wedding cake, and covers were marked with hand tinted place* curds in the design of miniature brides and grooms. The couple* left in the afternoon I'rorn, Miami Florida where they will make their home, and where Mr. Bell is resident 'manager of the Miami Colonial Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Bell were graduated Hom the South Side High School, the former is a member of the Alpha Phi Sigma Fraternity and .Mrs. Bell is a member of the Lamba Chi Omega and Alpha Gamma sororities Mrs. Avon Burk. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Merryman, Miss Eileen Burk and James Burk were guests from Decatur who attended the wedding. NUTRITION LESSON GIVEN AT CLUB MEETING Mrs. Frank Kitson was hostess to the members of the Root Township Home Economics Club, Tuesday afternoon. and eleven members ami j one guest attended the meeting. A very interesting nutrition les-1 son was given and jelly tests were also explained by Mrs. Ernest Turnbleson and Mrs. W. O. Wynn. At the close of the meeting. Mrs. Kitson and Mrs. Lew Houk, the assisting hostess, served dainty refreshments . Immediately following the meeting of the Ben Hur Lodge in the Ben Hur Hall, Friday evening, a Memorial service will be held. All members are asked to take note of this meeting and plan to attend. REFORMED LADIES ENTERTAINED AT PARTY The members of the executive committee of the Zion Reformed Ladies Aid Society entertained the women of the Reformed Church and Sunday school with a Fellowship party in the* church basement. Tuesday evening. The executive committee comprised the Mesdames Tillman Gerber. Albe|/t Mut.scbler, Ferdl Uftferer, Fred Fruchte and Charles Brodbecl; Au interesting program took place at the meeting, and contests were enjoyed in which Mrs. Charles Beineke, Junior Owen, and Mis. Ruby Venis received the prizes. Spring flowers were used as denotations about the church parlors, and following the program which had been especially arranged for the occasion, a delicious one course luncheon was served to the seventylive women attending the meeting. (JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP | 4-H CLUB MEETS The Jefferson township 4-H Chib I girls held their second meeting in (the Jefferson township high school building,Tuesday. Twenty members and six visitors we e* present, and during the meeting Miss Hah Harshbarger was chosen pianist. The leader, Mrs. I lent y Rumple, divided the members into three classes, explaining what would be required at their next meeting which will be June ,9.. The W. O. M. L. will hold the regular business meeting at the Moose Home, Thursday evening at eight j o’clock. PSI IOTA XI HAS ANNIVERSARY PARTY The members of the Psi Inta Xi sorority enjoyed it dinner-bridge party at the Elks Home, Tuesdayevening, the occasion being the an niversary of the local chapter. Mrs. Paul Fidwards and Miss Ruth Macklin, new members of the sorority, were the honor guests. Initiation for the new members was held at the home of Miss Erna Lcnkenau on South Third street at six o’clock.
