MOTHERS HONORED WITH BANQUET MONDAY The members of the Delta Theta Tau sorority and the Delta Theta Tau Alumni organization entertain ed their mothers with one of the prettiest spring parties of the seaI son. Monday night. The affair was ; in the form of a dinner and bridge i party at the Decatur Country Club, ’ where the mothers of the members were the honored guests. A profusion of lavender and white lilacs were arranged about the large ball room where the party .00l place, and lot g tallies were placed about the room, also decorated in the color note, lavender and white. Large vases filled with torsages and streamers which led to the place cards marking the covers for i the members and guests, were decI orative features at the tables, and I the corsages were later worn by the ' mothers. The delicious three course dinner of the prevailing color note was served by tile Misses Flothilda Harris.. Patri,|a Hoikhouse, Jlheresa Baker ami Salome Sghmitz. Mies Margaret Holthouse acted as toastmistress during tlie dinner, and toasts were given by Mrs. Raymond Kohne of tlie plumni sorority and Miss Irene Holthouse, president lof tile Delta Theta Tau sorority. Favors of silver candle lights, placj< d at each mother’s cover, were i presented the guests of honor. A clever program. “Contrast Review" which was in the charge of the entertainment committee comprising the Misses Margaret Holthouse, Irene Holthouse, Mary Hards, Katheryn Hyland, Jeanette Clark, Helen Voglewede ami Mary Fisher, and the Mesdames Jack Brunton, Joe Laurent and Joe Brennan, took place. The review con .lasted the dress of the old fashioned girls with the modern girls, and was very interesting. Following the dinner, Miss Jeai nette Clark presented a number of I girls of her tap dance classes in ; a program of dancing. The girls who took part in the tap dance i number included Katherine Engeler Margaret Campbell. Katheryn Hower, Eileen Burk, Elizabeth Franklin, Mary Engle, Barbara Krick, Helena Rayl, Viiginia Miller and Sara Jane Kauffman. Eileen Burk, Sara Jane Kauffman, and Elizabeth Franklin took part in the Baloon Dance, and Edwina Shroll sang a song number. Small tables were then arranged for games of bridge and peanuts. Following several games, the prizes .or hi.h scores in bridge were awarded to Mrs. Amelia Christen a. d Mrs. W. A. Klepper, and Mrs. J. 11. Bremerkamp received the con solation prize. Mrs. Mary Hidthouse received ’ st prize in the game of peanuts while Mrs. John Baker was awarded the consolation prize.
