I which the newspapers cannot | Seems as though some agrecnwnl will have to be reached. Mr. Brisbane says that ninety per cent of tlie success of business I men these days of "how can we sell half we can produce" is advertis Ing. That may be a little strong but net much. The sooner.the merchant gets busy and gives some actual attention to advertising the | better it is going to be for him and of course for us too. The government must borrow some fifty or sixty million dollars next month to refund some old debts and it seems they will have no trouble doing it for offers are as low as one and a half per cent., which accounts why Liberty, county, school and road bonds are over par. The rich are looking for such investments just now it seems. The stockholders of the new People's Loan & Trust Company will receive par for their stock next week and when the furniture and fixtures are disposed of will receive an additional check which will practically make them even on their investment, an arrangement which should meet the approval of every one. Those in charge we are sure have done their very best lor all concerned. A Chicago police captain whose salary lias never exceeded $4,000 per year has more than a hundred thousand dollars in Chicago banks and the grand jury wants to know how and where he got it. Even if thrifty enough to save a thousand a year, which we presume is as hard to do in that city as it would be here, it would take him a hundred years to amass that saving. Some think he may have had on occasional dollar slipped to him. The committee which wont to Indianapolis this week to look after road improvements for this section reported as have others who have vi-Rod headquarters, that while -there are several very important matters cards, there is no indication of early action and that more enthusiasm and more pep from this eml is required. There should tie a separate organization for each of the desired improvements working in conjunction with the general committee and results will soon follow. ♦— —’ — 4 ANSWERS TO TEST QUESTIONS Below are the answers to the test questions printed on page two 0 4 1. —"The Fink Tn." | 2. —Enoch Arden. ! 3. —“Child of the Earth.” 4. —Mark Twain. ! 5. —North Carolina. . 6.—Thermopylae. 7. -Mt.
