Whereas the bill as passed by congress increases the loan value of all World War veterans’ adjust ed service certificates from 22*4 to 50 per cent of their matured value, the administration amendment would have restricted the 50 per cent loan privilege to those veterans actually in need. Many veterans nad sat for six hours listening to the oratorical flood. Two war veterans. Senator Reed, Repn., Pa., and Senator Bingham, llepn.. Conn., advanced the administration arguments against the hill. Senator King, Dem., Utah, in the end proposed the restrictive - 1 11

Girl Is Returned To Home at Toledo Edna Radford. 16 was returned to her home at Toledo, Ohio, today after she had been kept in the local jail two days after being found on the local streets by Sheriff Burl Johnson. The girl is under probation at Toledo and was returned there today by a probation officer. The Radford girl came to this citv with two truck drivers who she had persuadted to take her from Cleveland to Fremont, Ohio. When they arrived at Fremont, »he refused to leave the truck and came on to Decatur. No blame is attached by officers to the two drivers who were entirely blamelees in the affair. Only the bravery of the mother. Mrs. Anna Havticek, 38, and the father, Robert, 39, prevented the entire family from being lost in the flames.
