I 1 BEAT DELPHOS! I 000 Tin* Commodores face a really ; tough schedule this week with gum l * <arded for both Wednesday I , ami Friday nights, both on the home floor. j 000 Wednesday night, St. Johns, of i Delphos, will tackle the Commo-! dores. The two teams have met twice previously this year and each team has won one game, so tomorrow night's Imttle will be a grudge battle right. 000 1 The local gym quite likely will be packed to capacity as Delphos always gives the Commodores plenty of opposition and this season has proved no exception. 000 Both teams registered their vic-! tories on their home floors, the; . Commodores winning here, 22 to 18, and losing at Delphos, 18 to 15. Delphos only recently handed VanWert its first defeat of the season and the St. Johns team iseems to be improving rapidly. 000 Friday night. Paul White and the New Haven Bull Dogs do battle with the Commodores here. I New Haven defeated the locals at New Haven early in the season,' 24 to 18 and since that time, has! defeated North Side, of Fort! Wayne. 000 The Yellow Jackets are idle asrain this week and have only two, more games scheduled to finish I the season. Decatur secured an 'almost certain hold on the conference championship by their etert'ng win over the Bluffton Tigers I last Friday night. The Yellow Jackets are now the only undefeated five in the conference. 000 Saturday afternoon and evening, four eighth grade teams will stage • | a tourney at the D. H. S. gym. Teams entered are Central. St. . Joe, Bern? and Jefferson. The , teams appear on record as fairly evenly matched and 1 an interesting tourney is expected. 000 Both afternoon and evening ser--1 siom* will lie held. The afternoon j session wiil open at 2p. m. The ( winners of the two afternoon games will meet in the final game ; Saturday night while the two afternoon losers will play a prelimI inary to the final battle. 000 This meet is another one of i those “blind” tourneys. The t schedule will not be drawn until ( a short time before the first game, will be played. Only a nominal j i admission fee will be charged. | I 000 Received a contrib this morning j 1 on the tourney. Here it is: “Here is a little dope on the I I eighth grade tourney. The two < Decatur teams do not have a t j chance to win the tourney for Urey ■ will play the first game. This I will be the best game of the tour-!! ney. 'I think one of the teams; I from Decatur is the best but Berne | I ■ will have a much easier game and ■ ' j will be in better condition for the ' i final game.” | Signed—An Eighth Grader, —. —.—o Fascist Deputies Bolt Reichstag —— Berlin.
