' —oOo—--1 Herb is having a tough time " pulling his boys out of th? slump they have been suffering since the holidays. Here's hoping they are) back in form Friday night and give . M ndy's Minstrels a real lesson in basketball as it should be played. r —oOo—- ? Friday will mark the first ap- .. pearance of the Yellow Jackets in I the new Central gymnasium at Fort Wayne. The building was completed the past summer. A capacity crowd is expected for the 1 battle Friday, with every one of the 2,000 seats in the new; gym taken. I —oOo— Three hundred tickets have been sent here by Central officials. Thsse tickets are on sale at the office of W. Gay Brown, high school . principal. —oOo—- , While the Decatur Commodores will not see action until January 30, Coach Laurent is keeping them busy. After their poor first half - showing at Huntington last week, George figures they need plenty of work to get in shape for the battle with Fort Wayne Central Catholic, at Fort Wayne, one week from Fiiday. —oOo— The Commodores fought back in great style the second haif against Huntington, and we feel sure they will be primed to show C. C. a real time next week. —oOo — Although the Commodores are idle this week, the Commodore second team will meet the Pleasant Mills varsity on the local floor tonight. The St. Joe seventh anil eighth grade teams will play the preliminary game, stalling at 7:31) o'clock. No admission charge will be made for this game. The contest was originally scheduled for January 2, but was postponed because of the tragic death that evening of George Gase, a members of the Commodore second team. The G. E. club scored an easy victoiy last night from the Huntington L gion five, 52 to 36. Fans at the game were disappointed wh n the announced lineup of the visitors failed to appear. It was explained before tile game started that four of the Legion regulars were also members of the Markle Boosters. Markle played a scheduled game last night and these four men are under contract to play with Markle whenever a game is scheduled.' —oOo — It looks to the writer like poor policy for a team to schedule a game, promising a certain lineup, and then put in an appearance for the game with a “pick-up" team.' No blUjin - is to be attached to the 1 G. E. management as this game was scheduled in good faith. —oOo — Lest you forget! The annual
