PALAVER CLUB HAS NEW YEAR’S PARTY The members of the Palaver Club of Decatur high school and one additional guest enjoyed a New Year’s Party in the private entertaining roms of Campbells, Thursday even ing. Decorations of the rooms were in keeping with the seasonal appointments, and a large decorated Christmas tree was used. Small tables were arranged for playing bunco, and after the games were enjoyed, the tables were laid with linens and a one course luncheon was served. Dancing was enjoyed during the remainder of the evening. The members of the Palaver Club sponsor and participate in the debating events of the high school Those present last evening include the Misses Betty Franklin Kathryn Hower, Eileen Burk, Betty Frisinger, Helen Hain, Ruth Whines, Louise Haubold, Esther Sunderman Mary Engle, Mary Maxine Brown, and the Messrs. Dick Schug, Edward Martz, Paul Handler, James Burk, Marion Baker. Miss Martha Moser, a former member of the club and a student, at Ball State college at Muncie, was a guest of the club members. NEWLY-WEDS HONORED WITH DINNER AND PARTY Mr and Mrs. Francis Stults, who were m arried on Wednesday evening, December 24. 1930, were honored with a dinner at the home of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Stults, east of this city, Thursday noon. Covers were laid for the honored couple, Francis Stults, and his bride who was formerly Miss Florence Kith". Mr. and Mrs. Philip Kuhn, Theral Stults. The bride wore a pretty frock of black < biffon trimmed with lace, fashioned long with a high belt at the waistline. She wore a strand of crystals, a gift -of the groom. Following the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. White attended the New Year's Eve dance at the Decatur Country Club, before leaving for Chicago, Illinois, where they spent their honeymoon. They will return to this city Sunday. WORK AND WIN CLASS HOLDS REGULAR MEETING The Work and Win class, of the United Brethren Sunday school held its regular meeting at the country home of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Harvey, Thursday evening. Rev. R. E. Vance had charge of the devotional services, after which a short business meeting was held. 1 Forty two members of the class ’ responded to the roll call and | three visitors, Mrs. Charles Hitchcock. Mrs. Leona Marquardt and daughter Emma were present. Mr. and Mr-. Orval Roop had charge of the entertainment for the evening, and a number of interesting games were played. The hosts and hostesses for the evening, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Harvey and Mr. and Mrs Ed. Hower served a delicious luncheon. The Carpe Diem Club will meet Tuesday evening at seven-thirty o'clock prompt, at the home of Mrs. Francis Howell on Monroe street.
