Mystery Is Probed Columbia City, Ind., Dec. 26— (U.R) —Footprints that led to a hole in the ice covering the Arnold gravel pit southwest of town, baffled Sheriff J. M. Haynes today. No footprints led away from the | hole, no body has been found in' the pit, and no one has been reported missing. The prints in the snow were made by a man walking hurriedly, and they were clear-cut, forestalling the pos ibility that jokers made them and doubled back on their tracks, the sheriff said.
