WINTER BLAST STRIKES SHIPS ON WEST COAST (CONTINUED FROM PAGE ONE) San Diego. Calif., Nov. 17 —(U.R) —Two bodies washed ashore in the wreckage of a rum-running speedboat, were identified today as , those of Charles L. Mcßra and Walter Williams, both of Long ! Reach, Calif. Mcßae formerly wa/s captain of the barge MontfaUone, later a gambling chip which burned off Long Beach a year ago. Customs officers declared that I the weight of the cargo of 138 j live-gallon cans of Mexican alco-' hoi evidently caused the speedboat, to become unmanageable in the I heavy seas and that the men were asphyxiated as they tinkered with the motor. , Chicago, Nov. 17 —(U.R) —Storm signals were up today for Lake Michigan ships and sailors coming into ports reported encountering heavy sea®. A 40-mile gale whipped across northern sections of the lake Sunday and caused some damage along the lake shore. The wind, however, was north of Chicago and did no damage here.
