tino thing to reopen the Old Adams County Hank and again proves that most any thing can be done when the motive is right and the desire is sufficient. We have proven a great community. Let’s all live up ' t.i It by keeping everlastingly at I the job of boosting one another. . Let’s keep the clocks a’.l moving 1 right along. Good men are the democratic [ candidates in this county who will • serve you efficiently and honestly, i J Get hack of them and help roll up 1 the kind of a majority that will let. them know that you are for them. : The campaign is nearing a close and yet the work still to be done is the most important. Get your neighbor interested and then see that he gets to the polls on November 4th and of course see that he votes right. The Chamber of Commerce proposes to erect five large signs at the entrances of the main highways leading into this city, advertising industries and facilities here if the city will light them. The matter is now in the hands of the electric light committee which has power to act. Its a fine thing to tell the world tliat this is < ne of the best cities of 5,000 in all the world and th" county seat of the greatest I county. It pays to advertise. Another county rally will be held tonight, this one at the auditorium pit Heine and a number from here will attend. Jump in one of the cars and roll with th m. Help cheer the winners on to a more j complete victory. The speakers I will include Hon. L. Ert Slack, j former mayor of Indianapolis and I a faverite in Berne; Mrs. Fay j Smith Knapp of this city who has l.i message that every voter should hear this year and Hon. Claude Ball of Muncie, democratic candidate for congress. This is one of the important meetings of the year. Senator Jim Watson is ill and has cancelled all speaking dates which is not inly bad news for the republicans who were depending m him to swe p the voters off their feet this year but likewise to his many other friends over the state. We believe he will improve after 'ne strain of trying to defend the present administration is over. That’s most toe big a job even for 'he Hoosier senator. Any way we are all hoping lie comes through ' with his health greatly improved ! for politics would be rather uninI cresting without him. The republicans seem to be in I each a muddle that they are doubt- ! Ing that tlv y can get any where in the crtning election. They admit the loss of a large number of s ats I n congress and their estimate is far less than that of expert newsape? writers who have canvassed the situation. Now they are pulling the president in on the grounds that lie is playing a few favorites and is aiding them while neglecting otlnis. Maybe he doesn’t feel he owes some of them any thing for he has certainly had some weak spots in his congress the past two years. It won’t be long now until we will know just what the people think about it all. Refrigerator Displayed The .lew Majestic Electric Refrigerator, manufactured by the Grigsby Brunow Co., is now on display il the Deca'ur Electric Shop, local Majestic distributors. It is beautiful in design and embodies many important and new features in electrical refirgeration.
