SECOND SON OF SPANISH KING 22 YEARS OLD Infante don Jaime Is Known Throughout Land From Travels — Madrid, June 25—(UP)— 11. H. H. the Infante firm Janne, second bob of Their Most Catholic Majesties. today celebrated ills 22ud birthday. According te Spanish custom he will not become of age until his next birthday, when he will be 23 years old. At that tinre, if the Constitution of 1878 is in effect and Parliament is functioning, he may take his seat in the Senate, as all sons of the king or of the heir are entitled to sit there, provided they are of age, and apply for their seats in due form. in view of the physical condition of lite Prince of Asturias, the Infante .Jaime has taken a big parj in public functions, ami is the only son to accompany the family on | its trips to Barcelona, Seville and i other occasions when the court . makes an official visit. The younger sons, Juan and Gonzalo, are left !at home on account of th»4r I studies, and the Prince of Asturias can travel little. Jaime’s tall figure is now well known throughout-the I peninsula. " The Infante Jaime lacks one day of being exactly a year older than his sister, Beatriz. who yesterday celebrated her 21st birthday. Jaime was born at San Ildelfonso de la Graja, the “Versailles of Spain," on June 23, 1908. As an Infante of Spain he is a Knight of the Golden Fleece, also belongs ttf the Fourth Regiment of Horse Artillery, as well as several military-religious orders.
