A little rain ■ just now would be welcomed by the farmers and the gardeners. • Things may not be as good as ’ v.-e would like them but after all ’ the times could be worse. Business ■ is picking up and within a few months ought to be fair. In the i meantime keep working as hard , as you can and don't forget to smile. It does you good and every [ one else. The primary has passed and the candidates and their friends have settled right down to business, wearing smiles and ready to fight for the entire ticket next November. Thats the way it. should be and when that happens you can —bet Tour last little nickle on the resiffts. Nothing new regarding the new poawffice building here has been hetjfij and we are hoping that this wiT£not be overlooked. Decatur the building and the men desire the work this job would furnish. Perhaps we ought to send another bunch of letters to Mr. Vestal, just to make sure he doesn’t let any thing slip that will hurry the* job along. Mr. Riddle of Clear Lake has decided not to contest the result of the recent primary in which he lost by twenty-five votes and James Farley of Auburn will be the democratic candidate for congress in the Twelfth district which is perhaps just as well and saves a lot of money. The charges made by Senator Joseph T. Robinson can be subtantiated for the people are convinced that just making statements will' not correct the ills. What is wanted is definite action. Bill Rogers is making quite a complaint that he was not counted in .the census of Beverly Hills which town by the way showed a I gain of 2,500% and is now over 17,090 population size. If they missed Bill perhaps they missed others there and if they overlooked- them there maybe a tew got away here. If they did aud you I _know of any and will let us know we will tell the census taker for

The work of the past several weeks Is culminating in smooth and well graded roads and this will be kept up throughout the year. There is nothing more important for while most of us fall to praise good work we are almost sure to find fault 'f { every thing is not just right. Tomorrow is Mother's Day when ' we pay due reverence to the dear ! ones who are always loyal aud true and w-ho no difference what our faults never fail to pat us on the back aud tell us in many ways of their love.
