Dec. 26 — U.R) — Tlie death of a Fox terrier, that starved to death because some one sewed its mouth shut with wrapping cord, aroused widespread sympathy ami indignation in St. Louis today. Rewards totalling SI,OOO with the figure mounting hourly were offered for information that might lead to lite capture of the torturer. The dog, weak and emaciated, was found in the rear of Mullanphy hospital yesterday sniffing in kearch of food that it could not open its mouth to eat. A woman living near the hospital heard the dog's whining and notified humane society officers who fpund the terrior so weakened by himger and suffering that it had to bo shat. Officers said the dogs mouth probably had been sewn shut for at least five days. Robert F. Stellar, secretary of the humane society, leading the search said that charges calling for a minimum sentence of one year in prison a fine of SSOO would be filed if anyone was caught. He said he was working on one clew. — o Abun' , cnt Proof T’ at c .— i • ['j’j Living it - ■ai. he cillfk <P':id by si- nd w • r<m Id'tld) p'» ’., M ] f ( ,.- th., h ■ **- to bear t i w TOP I eie 11/i fri 'll /li-y :ivrs ■ >d super Slides- |i- ve b n fled on nnlm its and pr Ir "i' ' '• The SO' | !• I Il” "IlM'll cor I ' Il II- sure »• • »'••. i- 'res had i' .t ■ • • m du ■ . | 'l's i i • ' ’ '-’or | - ■ ’ ed i £. > ■" Vjk <" '’ ll O' ' T of i r.v j.j ■ ■■ of l!' •! gr.s i r nt I "i tii ijs n n ' 1 " w,r< “ gl Sh: ’ ' Ii Is-su«’'Ort <1 t!
