COMMODORES OPEN SEASON WITH VICTORY — St. Marys, Os Huntington, Drops Game By Score of 32-21 At Local Gym Decatur Catholic high school Commodores carved a win in their 1929-30 basketball belt at Catholic high school gymnasium last night by defeating St. Marys Catholic high school of Huntington. 32-21. The game was never close and the Commodore victory was far greater than the score indicates. The Huntington quintet fought hurll throughout the entire game, but the visitors lacked an offensive punch until in the closing minutes of the second half, when a tally netted several field goals. Bill Gans. Commodore forward start ed in last night, just where he left off last season and scored a tqtal of 19 points for the Laurentmen. He snagged field goals from all parts of the hardwood and tossed three free throws through the net. Gage, the othet Commodore forward accounted for 7 points and played by far the best floor game. Coach Laurent started Gage and Gass at forward positions; Mylott and Harris at guards and Wemhoff at center.
