Curtis DELTS ADOPT REVISED CONSTITUTION The Delta Theta Tau Sorority met last evening at the home of Miss Mary Harris for the regular business meeting of the month. During the evening the regular routine of business was followed, after which the constitution was revised and the revised edition was adopted. The next meeting of the sorority will be held ‘in two weeks at the home of Mrs. J. U Ehler. ENTERTAINS WITH DINNER Mr. and Mrs A. R. Ashbaucher entertained at their home on North Third street, Sunday honoring Mr and Mrs Willis Van Camp of Jackson. Michigan. Other guests included Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Ashbaucher, Mr. and Mrs- Cecil Mclchi, and Mrs. Lille Burroughs. ENTERTAINS WITH BRIDGE PARTY Mrs. Fred Heuer entertained last evening at her home with two tables of bridge. The decorative note of the evening was in keeping with Armistice Dsy and American Flags were used about the entertaining rooms. At the conclusion of the games prizes for high score were awarded to Mrs Charles K. Champlin, first, and Mrs. Madge Harris, second. Following the social time the hostess served delicious refreshments of Armistice Day appointments. TO SERVE PLATE SUPPER The Ladies Aid Society of the Chris tian Church will serve a forty cent plate supper, Saturday evening. November 16. in the church basement, from five to seven o’clock. Roop of Fort Wayne, brothers of Mrs. Acker, and Mrs. Maude Acker and son Robert of Fort Wayn«. Thin is the first time Joseph hits been here to visit his sister in,thirteen years. His wife, Mrs. Roop, is in the Ann Arbor University hospital where she was operated on three weeks ago. Her home before her marriage was near Rockford, Ohio. As soon as Mrs. Roop is able to leave tile hospital she and Mr. Roop will make their home in this city with Mr. and Mrs. Sam Acker. The Progressive Workers class of the United Brethren Church will meet with Mr and Mrs. C. E. Merriman 112 North 9th street Thursday night November 14, at 7:30 o'clock.
ANNOUNCES WEDDDING OF NOVEMBER TENTH Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Farrar of Monroe announce the marriage of their laughter Marquerite to Mr. Adelbert Beals ot' Portland. Ind The wedding took place November 10 at Covington, Kentucky. On their return from Covington Mr. and Mrs. Beals travelled through Kentucky, Ohio, and southern Indiana. They will be at home to their many friends in Portland where Mr. Beals is proprietor of the Busy Bee Lunch Room. Tlie Mt. Pleasant Aid Society will give a ten cent supper, Thursday November 14. in the basement of the Ml. Pleasant School. The public is invited to attend. Each lady is requester; to bring her own table service along with one article of food. The Pythian Sisters will hold a Tricounty meeting of Wells, Blackford, and Adams Counties Thursday in the Decatur Temple, and the Decatur organization will act as hostess. A good program lias been arranged for the meeting, and a pot-lm k dinner will be served at the noon hour. All members are urged to attend, and to bring one article of food. ENTERTAINS MONDAY NIGHT CLUB Mrs. Frank Geary entertained at her home on Marshall street, for tlie members of tlie Monday Night Club, last evening. Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Snow of Chicago, were Armistice Day guests of Decatur friends. The birthday commemorations of Mrs. J. F. Snow, and her son Horace, were also observed as both were born on November 11th. Mrs. Amelia Hess who has been mak Ing her home In Sante Fe, New Mexico, has returned here for a visit. Mrs. Hess is making her home In Fort Wayne at present, but is spending a tew days here visiting with friends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Osborne of Fort Wayne spent the week end in this city visiting with relatives. Charles Breiner of Fort Wayne spent the week-end visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. J Breiner. Mrs. William Chronister, who was seriously Injured Saturday night in an automobile accident which occured at her home in Fort Wayne, is reported to be still in a serious condition. She is receiving treatment a<t the Methodist Hospital at Fort Wayne. Mrs. Lloyd Youse and daughter Eileen Mae. spent the week-end visiting with her mother, Mrs. Mae Andrews, and returned to her home in Fort Wayne Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Myers of Fort Wayne visited over the week end with friends and realtives in this city, and returned to their home last evening Doctor C. V. Connell will attend a short course for graduate veterinarians given by Purdue University, November 12, 13, and 14. Purdue University has held veterinary conferences or short courses for a number of years and was one of the first state colleges to comply with the request for these specialized courses in animal diseases. Mrs. M. E. Hower went to Fort Wayne today, where she spent the day Mr. and Mrs John Maynard are in Indianapolis today where Mr. Maynard is attending a meeting of the State Embalmers board. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Heller visited in Fort Wayne last evening. Jeff Leichty of Berne was calling on friends and attending to business here this morning. J. S Peterson continues to improve from injuries received in’ an automobile accident a month ago when he received six rib fractures and was otherwise bruised. He made his first trip down town this morning. H. J. Bourne of Portland was looking after business here this morning. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Crist entertained Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ostente of Fort Wayne. Attorney B. F. Roller is in Fort Wayne today trying a suit. J. H. Stewart writes us from Newark, N. J. expressing his satisfaction with the reuslts in the recent election in Decatur, Huntington and other Indiana towns- He says the election there was quite because the smash in the stock market has made that the big subject and that about everyone in the east has been hard hit as a result. Mrs. Ruggles, step-mother of Mrs. Stewart is seriously sick at their home with gall bladder trouble. The Masons will banquet tonight and a splendid program has been arranged. Some reader of the Daily Democrat has sent us an item for People's Voice complaining about a neighbor who keeps fifty chickens, that many pigeons, seven cats and a dog. a regular menagerie, but the writer failed to sign his name which is required. The usual large crowd was in town today for the gift disiribution. Major Defendants In Liquor Cases On Trial Hammond, Ind., Nov. 12. — (U.R) — Major defendants in the Lake county liquor conspiracy canes were scheduled for arraignment in Federal court today. Indications were that demurrers to all the conspiracy bills would he filed in u fight to delay trials tor a long time. C. 1). Tinkham, Hammond attorney for many of the conspirators, including Mayor Raleigh P. Hale and Police Chief James E. Regan, East Chicago, announced he was prepared to argue demurrers when his clients were called for arraignment. Attorneys for the defendants in the Gary cases also announced the same policy.
