The plane's motor still was working perfectly but the fog wac so thick over the west shore of Lake Michigan the fliers were unable to find their "mother" plane and get a new supply of fuel and food. The aviators, who had hoped to equal and then surpass the 420-hour record of the St. Louis Robin fliers, had kept their identity a mystery until early today.
