The fall convocation of Scottish Rite Masons, always a big event for members, will be held at Fort Wayne November 6th. 7th and sth. The lodge now has 4.453 members. A letter from Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Blair says they are trying to arrange a trip here for the weekrend. They have been at New Lexttlgton, Ohio about two months and though very busy, find time to get a little homesick Mr. and Mrs. Walter Avery of Willshire. Ohio were Decatur visitors last evening. Tom Vail of Chicago is visiting in the city. Congressman David Hogg of Fort Wayne attended to legal business here this morning, visited with friends and seemed to be enjoying himself. Forest Vail of Fort Wayne is spending a tew days here. M J Mylott, Joe Lose and Hubert Schmitt have returned from Chicago. A. T. NEW GOLD RUSH THRILLS IDAHO Hundreds Mill Way Into: Hills Os Idaho Northwest Os Wallace Wallace,’lda., Oct. 10 — (U.R> - The cry of "gold" has been heard in Wit!-1 lace again'and this little town, once I .a front'er outpost, |r rallying to the. stampede. Prospectors, mining men, business I men old and young—have joined the frantic rush to the bills northwest of Wallace where the first "strike” wan ' reported. Hundreds poured through here today. They came. In pairs, by the dozen and by the score, eager to stake a claim In the supposedly rich country. John S. Zont, veteran prospector, found a piece of ore that assayed 12,663 tn gold and smaller assays in silver and copper. About two weeks ago, but kept ■ fils find secret. But the word leaked opt ,and the first rush was underway a few hours after the announcement. Every available means of conveyance is being used to reach the "gold field” up in the hills. The focal point of the rush Is located about 24 miles from Wallace and about 25 miles northwest of Prichard. - Greentown Lad Is Seriously Injured Kokomo, Ind., Oct. 10. —(U.R) —A preHalloween prank at Greentown last night, ended seriously for 11-year-old Darwin Carliss, despite the fact that he was not a participant.- He was in the Howard county hospital here today in a critical condition, suffering injuries received when Dr. Shrock. 73. became angered at a group of boys and fired a shotgun at them.
