The boys are already reserving peats for the world series, which by the way, will be here is five or six weeks. Indications are that those who have friends in Chicago and Philadelphia will have the best chance to laud. Three young inea in Indianapolis are staging a Sag pole sitting endurance contest. d< daring they will not cotne down from their narrow perches until they have to. Silly business but we have become used to this everlasting effort to do something freakish a little longer than some one else. This community has made considerable headway this year and is just ready to really start going. Everybody is employed, factories are operating full or ovetvme, there is considerable buiiding. Let's keep mov-1 ing. That’s the kind of a communityworth living in. Ruth Elder became Mrs. Walter Camp yesterday. Reports say she looked tired and worried when phe arj rived in New York but do nos 4afS’i whether her fatigue was due to the airplane contest she participated in , at Cleveland or because ot her anticipation of a third matrimonial adventure. The Young plan for reparations following the world war has finally been agreed upon by all the great nations I .including Germany. Britain, France, I Italy, Japan and Belgium. That is j great news for the world for it means | many years of peace and prosperity. It should again make Owen D. Young the man of the hour. Homewood is offered to you this week. It is a new subdivision, laid ; out with improved streets and provides some of the most attractive sites in the city. Back of it to the west is a beautit.il grove. You can secure on easy terms, a wonderful lot upon which to build a home. Pick out one or more of the lots and be ready to deal for them tomorrow or Sunday. Own a piece of the earth. A North Carolina sport named Meacham placed a revolver on the bridge table and declared he would shoot the next fellow who dealt him a poor hand. He gave himself a ten spot high, picked up the gun and blew his brains out. They say he was "a hard loser but game.” Rather he was a fool and his companions ought to feel lucky for evidently he

What a great tale he can spin if half what has been charged to him is true. We appreciate very much the splen did advertising support we have re-, ceived the last few weeks and we I hope every line of it brings more and better returns than were anticipated. We believed in co-operation and we' feel that if the citizens of the com-1 munity stick together in the future I as they have in the past every one will prosper and he happy. A good community always tells its story I through a good newspaper. Dr. C. V. Clark, representing the American College of Surgeons, of Chicago, inspected the Adams County Memorial Hospital here this and his compliments are appreciated , because it is known that he is competent and always frank. The local hospital is, as pronounced by Dr. Clark, one of the best in the mddle west and under the management of Miks Emile Crist is so recognized. We are very proud of the report made by the eminent Dr. Clark. Fifteen years ago the George Young read in Huntington county was orderI ed constructed and a contract let but the job was abandoned after a few’ months because ot the increase in materials, then it was relet and again the contractor quit. Now the state board has ordered the county com- • missioners to let the job and see that (it is finished. Just how the contracI tors got away from the completion of ! the road or the bondsmen escaped
