Hayes, president of the motion picture producers and distributors of America, has been granted a divorce ■ from his wife on grounds of cruel and inhuman treatment Hayes, appearing in court, was I given custody of the couples’ 13-year-old son, William Harrison Hayes, Jr. A petition filed in April, said the couple was married in 1902 and separated because of incompatibility. Mrs. Hayes did not appear in court. o DECATUR MAN INJURED Raymond Walters, of near Decatur,> was bruised when his automobile was struck by an interurban car, east of Fort Wayne, Friday. Walters said he did not see the interurban, which approached from the rear. i Aviator Shows Daring In Repairing Landing Gear While In The Air Hartford, Conn., June 22—(U.R)— Lieutenant Carl A. Dixon, Hartford aviator, nonchalantly went about making repairs on his five-passenger ait plane today while fellow fliers hailed him for his coolness and skill. Discovering his landing gear was disabled while flying over Willimantic, Dixon turned over the controls of the ship to a mechanic, cut a hole in the bottom of the fuselage and repaired the landing gear with rope and a shoe string while hanging by his feet. Then he brought the plane and its thiee passengers down to a 25-mile-an-hour landing. o PROVOKE IS CHARGED Berne, June 22.—(Special)—An affidavit charging provoge was filed in the court of Squire Chris Stengel, Wednesday, agajnst Mrs. Opal Ellenberger Herman. The affidavit was signed by Peter Bixler. Klepper spoke,for the Decatur club. 0 Mrs. Cassler And Son Indicted For Murder Valparaiso, Ind., June 22 —(U.R) — In true bills returned by the county grand jury, Mrs. Catherine Cassler, “Chicago, and her adopted son, Edward G. Cassler, were indicted for the murder of Miss. Cameoa Soutar, whose body was found near Hebron, Indiana. Recommendations were made by the jury to Prosecutor W. W. Bozarth
