Huge Farm Show Planned The chief part of the week’s exposition will be the agricultural show, to be held in a large tent In the center of the activities. The committee is planning to have the largest farnf exposition and exhibit ever shown in this part of the state. Local merchants will he asked for contributions for the farm show, only, • and a total of 13,000 is needed for this phase of the celebration. A finance committee is making plans now to obtain the funds necessary to make the awards and conduct the farm (• show. All Money For Farm Show The funds drive will be made the last June. Dick Heller, president of the Decatur Industrial Association. will have charge of the drive and the funds will be immediately turned over to the finance secretary of the farm show committee. None of the money collected from local establishments will be used for anything except the farm show, and every exhibitor will receive a list of all local merchants and professional 1 men contributing to make their show ea success. i. Committees Report Other committee reports were heard at last night’s meeting, and Paul Graham, general chairman, stated today that the local Legion post wants the cooperation of everyone in making the fair a success. The fair. It was pointed out, Is not a Legion affair, but Is being conducted by the local post as sponsor, as a civic duty, and a desire to advertise Decatur. The advertising committee has completed plans for advertising the fair within a radius of lot) miles. Gards, signs, newspapers and bands will be used in advertising tfie street fair, and it is predicted that the largest crowds ever to come to Decatur will attend the five-day affair next fall. On the c’osing day of the event, more than b,OOO Indiana members of the American Legion will be in Decatur, It Is expected. That day will be known as Legion Day of the fair and many neighboring Legion posts have agreed to bring their hands and drum corps The general committee will meet again next week to discuss further plans and to complete plans for the financial, drive for the agricultural show.
