Mrs. Michael Meibers and daughter-in-law of Rome City are visiting at the Dick Boch home in Decatur. Rudloph Linnemeler of Preble township called on Decatur folks this morning. Thomas Durkin, who has just compie ed the fifth year of the classical course, which he has been taking at the St. Joseph's college at Renssalear, returning to his home last evening, to visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Durkin. A number of members of the Eagle lodges from Portland and Richmond stopped here last evening en route home from Fort Wayne where the state convention was held. dem Macklin, representing the Mutual Life Insurance company of New York, has returned from a business trip to Jay and Wells counties. There are but 1,306 Civil war veterans living in Indiana and it is predicted that in ten years the entire body will have answered the final bugle. Eugene Durkin arrived home last evening, from Los Angelos, California, to spend his vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Durkin. He and A. F. Christen drove two thousand five hundred and fifty*miles from Los Angeles to Chicago in five days. “Jiggs" will be home until June 29th, when he expected to return to Ins Angeles with Mr. Christen. Miss Florence Magley will leave Saturday for Indianapolis where she. will enter summer school. John T. Myers made a business trip to Bluffton Friday afternoon. Cool weather followed the Thursday and Friday rains, and weather forecasters say the cool weather will continue for the next day or Mr. and Mrs. Herman Meyer motor- - ed to Bluffton last night where they visited relatives. Burk, pustor of the Pleasant Mills Methodist church, hasbeen attending the commencement week exercises at Taylor University Upland, Ind., and visiting a brother at Hartford City this week. Mr. and Mrs. William Secaur and children of Peru, are the week-end guests of Mr. Secaur’s mother, Mrs John Wagoner, of 310 North First street. Chirk Sours of Hartford township was in town this morning. Several mouths ago the big bank barn on his farm burned and he lost thirteen head of cattle, thirty-nine hogs and a horse. A brother of Mr. Sours who got several head of stock from the barn was so badly burned that he is just able to be about again. Clark has th< courage, however, and is planning to
