WHEAT PRICE SLUMPS TO SI Chicago, May 27. — (U.R) — For the first time in fourteen years quotations of “dollar wheat” were registered on the board of trade here today when rains over the Canadian spring wheat belt wiped out the last crop damage scare and caused heavy selling through commission houses. The SI.OO price on the May delivery was reached in the first hour of trading after a stubborn bull resistance had held the market at 1-8 cent above that figure for considerable time. Today's slump was a repetition of the past week's trade, for, under tlie pressure of record world supplies and excellent new crop prospects, prices had been working steadily lower until levels are now nearly 50c below this time a year ago. —o PLANE REMAINS ALOFT 172 HOURS FOR NEW RECORD (CONTINUED FROM PAGE ONEI carried through the mud to the plane, where they embraced their husbands. Jones, fled from the plaudits of the crowd and could not be located. Kelly and Robbins were loud in their praise of the two. insisting that they deserved equal credit. The motor had carried the plane 50.000 mjies before the flight started. Kelly told the United Press that they could have stayed uij “until the Fourth of July,” but for the split propeller. He said it was nicked by the striking the edge of bf« belt buckle as he worked under the motor. The tiny break widened into a’ big crack. "We first noticed vibration in the plane Saturday noon,” Kelly said. “We thought it was motor trouble and I went out on the cat-walk to see where it was. Everything was O.
