COURT HOUSE - Want Street Vacated A petition to vacate a portion of Logan street in Berne was filed in the Adams circuit court here this mot ning by Christian Zureher. Bertha Smith and Elizabeth Wendel. The portion described in the petition lies between the south line of Cleveland street and the nortli line of Adams street. The petitioners claim that that portion of the street lias never been used and has been permitted to grow up in weeds. Attorney E. B. Adams, of Decatur, is counsel for the petitioners. Claim Is Settled In the estate of Ella Penrod, the administrator was authorized to settle the claim against the National Casualty company for $550. The administrator was ordered to pay $175 to O’Neill and Bales for attorney fees, also. Speed of Birds Professor Tieuemann, of Rossitten, East Prussia, gives the following as the established speeds of certain birds during migration: The sparrow develops a speed of 25 miles an hour; the gray gull, the black-back gull and the Norway crow have the same speed, 31 miles an hour. STORE ROBBED AT MONTICELLO Merchandise Valued At $3,000 Carried Off; Safe Also Taken Monticello, Ind., April 15-Forcing their way into the Toggery, Men's furnishing stony here eatty today. Bandits stole the company's safe which entained' S2OO and carried off suits, hats, socks and overcoats valued at $3.u00. The men gained entrance by smashing a rear door. Thdy escaped in two automobiles, Police said. A few hours after'the robbery here, thieves broke into a general store at Yomen near hete and obtained a quantity of gasoline and groceries.
