FORMER DECATUR GIRL MARRIED IN HUNTINGTON Miss Mildred Irene Leonard, former prominent Decatur girl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Leonard of Huntington and Van E. Boyd of Middletown Ohio, were principals in a quiet wedding ceremony which was solemnized at eleven .o’clock Saturday morning, March 30, 1*29. at the First Methodist Episcopal church in Huntington. The Rev. John F. Edwards read the impressive single ring ceremony before an altar of lovely Easter flowers. The bride was attended by Miss Mildred Liddy, of this city, and Mr. Robert Nein. of Middletown, acted as the groom's attendant. The bride was attractively gowned in a bluish purple crepe frock and wore a corsage of sweet peas. Miss Liddy wore a dress of blue georgette and a corsage similar to to that of the brideThe ceremony was witnessed by the parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Iwonard, and son James Leonard, of Huntington and Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Kiick and daughter Barbara, of this city. Mr. and Mrs. J E. Boyd, parents of the groom, and a brother and sister. were enroute to Huntington by automobile to attend the wedding, but were delayed by an accident at Celina Ohio, and were unable to get there. Following the ceremony, the bridal party repaired to the home of the bride's parents, where a delicious three-course wedding dinner was serv. ed. the guests being seated at a large table which was attractively decorated with Easter flowers. Mrs. Boyd is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs Delmer Leonard for the past two years residents of Huntington but formerly of Decatur. She was graduated from the Decatur high school after which she attended the Battle Creek school of physical education at Battle Creek. Mich., from which she was graduated with honors, having been president of her graduating class throughout the Senior year. She is a member of the local Tri Kappa Sorority. For the past two years, she has been employed as instructor of Health Education at the • Robinson School in Detroit. Michigan. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Boyd, of Middletown, Ohio, and is associated with the Gardner-Har-vey Paper company of that city- He is a giaduate of the .Middletown high school, and of Marysville College, of Tennessee. He is a member of the Phi Delta Kappa fraternity.
Mr. and Mrs. Boyd left shortly after the wedding dinner for Middletown. Ohio, where they will spend the Easter vacation. Mrs. Boyd will return to Detroit to complete her school work, at the conclusion of which, the couple will be at home in Middletown, Ohio.
ADAMS COUNTY SCHOOL TEACHER WEDS The home of Mrs. Victoria Merriman, in Blue Creek township, was the scene of a pretty wedding ceremony. which was solemnized at the noon hour, Sunday, March 31, 1929, when her only daughter, Miss Rowena Beryl Merriman, became the bride of Lowell J. Smith, eldest son of Amos Z. Smith, of Washington township. The Rev. A. E. Burk, of Pleasant Mills, read the single ring service which united the young couple. The bride was attractively gowned in a frock of blue georgette. Both the bride and groom were unattended. Following the ceremony, a delicious wedding dinner was served. Covers for twenty-three guests were laid at a large table, centered with Howers, and laid with white linen and shining silver. Both young people are prominent in Adams county educational circles, the bride being a teacher in the schools of Blue Creek township. Mr. Smith has been attending school at Deßauw university.

Raymond is in a serious condition Mrs. H. L. Koontz and daughter Carol and Mrs. Don Lutes and son Tommy of Indianapolis, arlved in the city this afternoon for a short visit with Mrs C. R. Hammell and family. Mrs. Amos Fisher of this city returned today from Fort Wayne where she spent the week-end visiting with her daughter Mrs. Virgil Cross. While in the city Mrs Fisher also called on Merbert Greiser who is ill with typhoid fever. Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Weidler, of Detroit, Michigan, spent Easter with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Weidler. While here, they assisted in the rendition of the Easter cantata, “The Resurrection Song" at the Zion Reformed church. Mr. Weidler is a highly talented tenner singer and is a member of the "Shrine Chanters" of Detroit. Mrs. Weidler is a talented soprano singer.

The Catholic schools will reopen Tuesday morning, following a vacation since lust Wednesday. The Catholic schools were closed today in observance of Easter Monday.
