Leslie and other officials of state. Lieutenant. Governor Edgar D. Bush appointed a committee of six senators to draft a memorial resolution. A similar committee was Selected by James M. Knapp, speaker of the house of representatives. Taggart died yesterday after an illness of several months with a stomach ailtaent. He had been in ill health since about the time of the Nov. 6 election, being forced to miss his greatest pleasure—that of casting his vote. Since Nov. 5 he had been confined to his home, except for an occasions! automobile ride. The former statesman’s condition took a decided turn for the worse Tuesday night, physicians issuing a bulletin that he was “very low.” Death came the next morning at 10:30 while he was unconscious, and surrounded by his family. Flags throughout the state were at half mast today. Taggart, though ill at the time of the last Democratic convention, planned to make the trip there. This was only dispelled when Governor Al Smith, while on his campaign tour, visited the “Grand Old Man” at a hospital here. Survivors are: the widow, Mrs. Eva D. Taggart, a son, four daughters and eiglit grandchildren. They are Thomas D. Taggart, Jr., general manager of the French Lick Springs Hotel company; Miss Lucy Taggart, Indianapolis and New York; Mrs. Irene Young, wife of Dr. John Young, Louisville, Ky.; Mrs. Nora Chambers, wife of D. Laurence Chambers, and Mrs. Emily Sinclair, wife of Richard Sinclair, Ixith of Indianapolis. Get tne Habit—Trade at Home. It Pays I—■■—a*
