to the farm. Dr. Current expects the total number of cattle iu the county tn reach 18,000 head, since the heavy dairy sections are yet to be tested. Out of the 8,107 head tested, Dr. Current has found 30 reactors or approximately thirty-seven hundredths of one per cent ot infection The law requires that the per cent of infection must be not over one-half of one per cent to enable a county to become a modified accredited area. Dr. Current stated that he thought that Adams ccuuty would not exceed the amount of infection allowed by law to become a modified accredited area. The 30 reactois found by Dr. Current have been distributed in the following townships. French, 18. Union 5, Kirkland 4. St. Marys 2, Preble 1 Blue Creek 0, Jefferson 0 About 95 per cent of the reactors found on the various farms have been animals bought from other individuals and not raised by the farmers themselves where the reactors were found. Consequently, farmers purchasing cattle should demand animals which have recently been tuberculin tested. Dr. Current expects to finish the work in Adams county about August 1. There is a possibility that some additional help may be available for local testing by June 1 and if this help muterilizes, the work may be finished sooner. Dr. Current has been more

than pleased with the cooperation he has been receiving from Adams 1 county farmers in aiding with the test Only in a few instances has any < trouble been experienced in getting the farmers to cooperate and these ■ farmers have readily gone ahead with the test after the matter has been thoroughly explained to them. It has not been necessary to place a quarantine on any farmer in Adams county for failure to tost since Dr. Current has started work in the county. This is a direct compliment to Adams county farmers for their willingness to cooperate in facilitating the tuberculin test, and Dr. Current states that lie has never received more courteous treatment i nany other county , that he has worked since he started ( testing cattle 11 years ago.
