Albert Gehrig. Lawrence Linn and Gerald Cole, and 'he host and hostess. Following the dinner, five games of bridge were played and Lawrence Linn won the prize for high score of the gentleman, while Miss Veronica Anker won the ladies high score prize. Mrs. Harry Knapp and Mrs. Byford Macy will be hostesses, Thursday evening, io the Dinner Bridge Club st the home of Mrs. Maude Dorwin. at l 6:30 o'clock. EASTERN STARS TO GIVE BENEFIT BRIDGE The Eastern Star Chapter are making plans to give a benefit Bridge and Bunco party in the Masonic Hall, on next Monday evening, March 11, at 7:30 o’clock. Tickets for the party are being sold by Eastern Star members at 35 cents each, this price including light refreshments which will be served at the tables. Ladies and gentlement are both cordially invited to attend. The Alpha Zeta Bridge Club will meet Wednesday evening at seventhirty o’clock with Mrs. Burl Johnson. The Ladies Aid Society of Mt- Tabor church .will meet Wednesday evening at eight o'clock at the home of Mrs. Lucy Koos. ENTERTAINS FOR FORT WAYNE NURSE . Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Amspaugh, 522 North Third street, entertained at dinner Sunday for Miss Catherine Stuehr, supervisor of the obstetical floor of the Lutheran hospital, at Fort Wayne hospital, at Fort Wayne. The Carpe Diem Club will meet Tuesday evening, at 7:30 o'clock with Mrs. Miles Roop on North Tenth street- There will be an election of officers and all members are requested to attend. The Work and Win class of the United Brethren Sunday school will entertain at Guest' Night, and a parcel pom sale, at their regular meeting, Thursday evening at seven-thirty o'clock, in the church parlors. Each, member will be privileged to bring a guest, and is requested to also bring a package for the parcel post, a meat sandwich and one other article of lood. (U.R)Three negroes who killed a man while they were robbing him of S3O were electrocuted at Rockview penitentiary today. Those electrocuted were John 11. Wilson and two brothers Raymond Parker and James Parker. They killed Peligrino Cooco, Erie. Pa., merchant the night of November 29. 1927. Personal* Miss Lee Anna Vance, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Vance of this city, is numbered among the thousands who witnessed the Hoover inaugural ceremonies, today, in Washington, I). C. Miss Vance went to Washington, Saturday, from Baltimore, and was, the guest of friends over the weekend. On Saturday night, she had the pleasure of attending a dinner dance at the Wardman Park hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Merill Schnitz and sons Bobby and Dicky, went to Fort Wayne this afternoon where they wil! meet the train on which the body of Mrs. IL W". la>ose, who died Saturday evening at Louisville, Ry., will be sent to that city f.r burial. Mr. and Mrs. Oren Schultz spent Saturday afternoon at Van Wert. Oiiio and were accompanied home by Mrs. Scliultz parents, Mr. and Mrs. L M. Jackson, who visited here over the week-end. Robert Green, who has been a patient in the Irene Byron Sanitarium, near Fort Wayne, for several months, came home Sunday for a week's stay. He will return to the sanitarium next Sunday. Mr. Green is reported to be making steady improvement. Miss Jestine Hocker visited at her p.arental home over the week-end and returned to her teaching duties at Plymouth, last evening. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Miller and daughter Billy Jean, of Fort Wayne, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. (’. Miller on Marshall street. Mis Bertha Miller went to Indianapolis Saturday evening, where she visited over the week-end with her son. She will return to this city this evening. Decatur People On Conference Program The Rev. Ross W. Stoakes, pastor of the First Metnodist church of Decatur, C. L. Walters, also of Decatur, are on the program for the Fort Wayne district conference, North Indiana conference, of the Methodist Episcopal church, to bo held at 'he Waynedale M. E. church, March 5 and fi Rev. Stoakes wil deliver the conference sermon at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Walters will deliver the principal address at the laymen's banquet, to be held at 6 o’clock Tuesday evening. Man Admits Attack On Five-Year-Old Girl Madison, Ind., Mar. 4. — (U.R)--Ar-rested in Indianapolis after an extensive man-hunt, Frank Adams, charged with a criminal attack on a 5-year-old girl, who as a result is near death, was in jail here today. Adams eluded a posse hdre yesterday and escaped to Indianapolis where he was arrested at a hotel last night, having registered as “R. A. Brown, of St. Louis.” Immediately after being arrested Adams, admitted the crime and expressed fear of bodily harm if returned to Madison.
