Because of illness, several members were unable to be pit-sent to respond to lull call. Mrs. F. E. France had charge of the program for the afternoon and read a very fine paper on “Brazil", its coffee and rubber, and its future. Mrs. France illustrated her subject by using a map of South America. Sub-topics were given by Mrs. T. M. Reed, Mrs. Harrv Moltz, Mrs. C. E. Peterson, Mrs. C. A. Dugan, Mrs. 1). I!. Erwin, and Miss Rose Christen. At the close of the program. the hostess served home-mad-and For-get-me-uot candies. The next meeting of the club will be held on JamAry 2, wit li.Mrs. Morrison, and Mis. Harry Ferntheil will have charge of the paper. GECODE CLUB HAS CHRISTMAS EXCHANGE | A delightful Christmas party was j held, last evening, in the G. E. Club rooms when the Gecide Girls Held their annual Christmas dinner and gift exchange. The club rooms were gaily decorated in Christmas festooning. On one ride, was a huge fireplace with cheery glow. A large Christinas tree well lighted, furnished a soft lighting effect in one corner of (he room and a clever snow house was filled to the ro:f with attractively wrapped Christinas packages. Eight small tables were ananged in the center of the room, and each was centered by a tall | Chrirturns taper. Unique crepe paper j dolls marked places for the thirty-two ! guests and also furnished the favors . f tlie evening. A most delicious three course dinner, prepared by Mrs. Maude Dorwin, was served by the Misses Laura Lankonau, Olive Teeters and Violet Buidg. During the dinner, little Miss Flora Marie Lankenau entertained with Christmas carols, being ai-con: panied at the piano by Miss Olive Teeters. Following the dinner, each guest was requested to draw a slip of paper which directed them to perform some particular stunt. Upon complying with the directions, the guest was then presented with a gift from the snow h use which corresponded in number with the slip drawn. A social hour was then enjoyed. The committee responsible fm the delightful party were Mrs. Marktierite Helm, Miss Fern Passwater amt Miss Meriam Meyers. GIFT EXCHANGE OF LOYAL DAUGHTERS Mrs Oren Schultz entertained six membets of Iho Loyal Daughters class of the Christian Sunday school, Wednesday evening, at her home on Patterson street. The home was beautifully decorated with lovely Christmas appointments, the Christmas tiee being the central feature. Bunco, 1-otto and guessing contests furnished the amusements during the evening. GLEE CLUBS ENJOY DINNERPARTY The boys and girls glee clubs of (he Decatur high school united iu entertaining at a motel delightful Christmas dinner last evening, at which sixty-one members were present. Six large dining tables were mranged about the banquet hall, decorated with red and green papers all d centered with red and green lighted tapers. A most delicious twocourse dinner, consisting of rolls, meat loaf, pickles, baked beaus, fruit salad, wafers, ice-cream aud candy, was served by the following girls: Dorothy Haley, Evelyn Kelly, Mildred Ford, Sylvia Ruhl, Virginia Cook, Beruadine Shraluka and Mary Line DeVor. At the conclusion of •he dinner, the toastmaster, Robert Heller, called for several speeches, and a number of girls and boys responded with short addresses. The guests were then invited to the gymnasium where an interesting program was rendered. Violet Squiers ml Marcia Ollier played a piano duet, followed by a vocal duet, sung by Beruadine Shraluka and Anne Whines. Two clever readings were given hy Miss Verneal Whalen, "The Medicine Man,” and “Mary Had a Little Lamb.'' The boys quartet, consistng of Harry Hebble, David Heller, liar lil Mumma and Harold Shoaf, sang a selection entitled, "A Toast,” followed by a piano solo, Schubert’s Serenade," by Harold Mumma.
