The members of the Ben Hur lodge and their families will enjoy the annual Christmas party, Friday evening, at eight o'clock in the Yeoman hall. A pot-luck supper will be served and a good program has been planned A treat will be given all the Ben Hurs and their families. ATTENDS DINNER IN FORT WAYNE Mrs. Lucy Colchin of route five, was a guest, Sunday, at a dinner in Fort Wayne, at which Mr and Mrs. Walter Colchin were host and hostess. The affair was a pre-Christmas dinner honoring Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Langeaporst of Elyria, Ohio who were leaving for Florida to spend Christmas with Mr. Langenhorst’s mother. Ward, superintendent of public schools, found that cases of the "flu" had either doubled or tripled since last. week. The schools Included 12 Institutions in all parts of the city. To Re-Open Shops At Washington, Indiana Washington, Ind., Dec. 18 —<U.R>— The beginning of the new year probably will mark the opening of jobs for more than a hundred men here, according to word received by the local shops of the Baltimore and Ohio Railways. Authorization of the re-opening of the passenger car department of the shops Wednesday January 2 and the
hiring of 133 men was contained in a telegram late last week from Baltimore, to officials of the local G and O„ shoos. The passenger car department has been closed for some time and those who were let out at the time of the shutdown either have been idle or employed elsewhere, The re opening will be a stride toward a more prosperous year for Washington, It was announced.
