Field Goals By Mark M. Upp "— Yes, basketball is with us again. A game in Decatur last night, tonight, Friday night and Saturday night. And one need go only as far as Kirkland township, where the Whippets and Decatur (1. E. are to clash, to see a game on Thursday night. Help! Help! Much interest has been manifest here this week over the battle between the Commodores and St. Rose high, of Lima, here tonight. These two teams nevei fail to furnish thrills when they get together. Reports from Fort Wayne say that grades coming out this week may show “Tut" Miner, veteran center of the South Side quintet, eligible for Play again. Miner has been down in his grades this fall. Dickey, regularback guard, has been playing center in his absence. If Miner becomes eligible this week, he likely will perform at center here against the Yellow Jackets Friday night and Dickeywill return to his guard post. Tickets for the South Side game will be on sale at the high school building between 7 and 8 o'clock this evening. A capacity crowd is expected, so get your cardboards early. • The final game of the week in Decatur will be the Commodores’ battle with the Catholic state champions, Cathedral high of Indianapolis, Saturday night. The Commodores have an old score to settle, for it was Cathedral that put the Commies out of the running in the semi-finals of the state Catholic tournament at Indianapolis last spring. • * Berne will take on a speedy outfit Friday night when Montpelier invades the Bears' stronghold. On advance dope, however, the Bears appears to be plenty able for the task. Monroe has a chance to mark up two wins this week-end. Coach Everhart s boys go to Hoagland Friday night and play Hatrford here Saturday night. — Offers A Suggestion “Toiffnaments with a few select schools competing, have appealed to the larger institutions, this year and as a result at least two “big time” engagements of this kind will take place in January. Muncie will be host to Anderson, Kokomo and Frankfort, while Martinsville, Vincennes and Bedford will play at Washington. Huntington, next season, might sponsor something of the sort if Decatur, Bluffton and Columbia City should be interested. We suggest these four schools because they generally are fairly evenly matched and all are old rivals. The tourney could rotate each
year.”—Fan Whiffs, Huntington Her aid. The Kirkland high school Kangar loos will travel to Frankfort, Saturday I to play a return game with the Frankfort Fighting Five. Saturday night. Frankfort defeated the Knngaioos here a few weeks ago. The Frankfort Morning Times says: •"The last game of the 'out’ season schedule will be played at Howard Hall Saturday night, when the outlaw Kirkland township five, of Decatur, will furnish the opposition for the illite and White R squad. Coach Everett Case announced last evening that the game with Kirkland Saturday night will be the last until Jantiaty 1, when the local high school will again be in the good graces of the I. 11. S. A. A., mid will meet the strong Lebanon outfit for the first .start of the 'in' season." o — Only 11 Major League Hurlers Bat (her .300 New York. There is good news for victims of indigestion, kidney pains and rheumatism in the recovery of -health made by Jerry Nash, well-known farmer, Route 5, Elkhart, Ind. He tells about it, as follows: • “For four years, my health has been so poor that I should not have tried to work at all. Everything I tried to eat seemed to sour and cause intense pain. I would bloat so with gas that I felt I was smothering, and my heart would act so irregular I often fainted away. I was constipated, bilious and dizzy. My back ached fearfully, and between kidney disturbance and the smothering spells, sleep was almost impossible. I feel very grateful to Viuna for bringing me out of all this trouble. From the first bottle I have never had a smothering spell or poor heart action. My kidneys soon began working fi.ie, the back-ache is all gone, and I am rid of constipation and biliousness. I am getting the best sleep I have had for years, and, best of all, I am eating hearty meals without a trace of gas or indigestion. If anyone wants to know a real remedy for troubles like I had, let them ask me and I will gladly tell them about Viuna.” Vlunn acts promptly on sluggish bowels, lazy liver and wenk kidneys. It purifies the blood, clears the skin, restores appetite and digestion, and brings new strength and energy to the whole body. Take a bottle on trial. Then if you're not glad you tried Viuna, your money will lie refunned. $1 at druggists or mailed postpaid by Iceland Medicine Co., Indianapolis, Ind. VIUNA The Wonder Medicine Sold By CALLOW & KOHNE
