U. at their regular meeting. Sub-topics on the subject were given by Mrs. Eugene Runyon, Mrs. Delton Passwater, Mrs. John Niblick, and Mrs. S. D. Beavers. Mrs. R. E. Vance had charge of the opening Devotional for the afternoon, and a saxaphone trio by Mrs. George Squier, Miss Violet Squier and Miss Mildred Worthman added much to the pleasure of the audience. During a short business session, the Union voted to give the sum of $5 to the Boy Scouts Organization. Bolivian President Says He Wishes To Avoid War La Paz, Bolivia, Dec. 12.- (U.R) Dr. Hernando Files, president of Bolivia, said today that he desired to avoid war and would strive to accomplish this end. “I do not wish war,” President Files told a gathering of 20,000 demonstrators, "because I am an enemy of war and I will do all 1 can to avoid it. But if we are forced to go to war to defend our national honor, I swear that I will go with you."
