Butterfat 47c LABOR FORMS NEW PROGRAM Union Executives Outline New Policy For State Legislature Indianapolis, Nov. 15. — (U.P.) — Organized labor of Indiana today was committed to a legislative program outlined at a conference of union executive embracing these obpects: Elimination of injunctions in labor disputes. Rewriting of the Workmen's compensation law to increase maximum compensation from $16.50 to $lB weekly, increasing total settlement from a maximum of $5,000 to $6,500 and extending the provision for medical treatment from sixty days to the life of the injury. Opposition to modification of the primary law. Elimination of the products of prison labor from competition with the products of free labor. Establishment of free textbooks in the public schools. Opposition to the proposed additional appropriation for $276,000 for state motor force. Names on the legislative committee to draft bills advocated were: Thomas N. Taylor, president, and Edward Barry and Adolph J. Fritz, of the state Federation of Labor; Harvey Cartwright. William Mitch and James Terry, representing the United Mine Workers, district No. 11; and Herbert France, representing the State Bankers' Association. Others are to be appointed, it was said.
