TO BUILD LARGER, FASTER AIRSHIPS Friedrichshafen, Germany, Nov. 2. —(U.K)—Plans for building two vast dirigibles for trans-Atlantic service, larger, faster and stronger than the Graf Zeppelin, were announced today by Dr. Hugo Eckener. Dr. Eckener discussed the lessons learned from the trip of the Graf Zeppelin to the United States and return. which was completed here early yesterday. New Hangars Needed Eckener said two immense hangars would be required for the new Leviathans of the air. One hangar would be in Berlin, he said, and the site of the other has not been decided. However, he believed the Rhine valley was the most favorable spot for al central trans-Atlantic airport and sugested Baden as a good location. Eckener repeated that the return flight of the Graf Zeppelin, during which she was beaten down almost to the water by a gale off Newfoundland and at times was close to disaster. had demonstrated that the Graf Zeppelin was inadequate for ocean service. The framework and motors of the Graf Zeppelin must be strengthened Eckener said. For trans-Atlantic service to be maintained on a regular schedule, airships must have more power. Eckener announced that the Graf Zeppelin may be used as a training school for dirigible flying and conducting meteorological research to aid trans-Atlantic service. Hence he plans to resume long distance flights in the Graf Zeppelin soon, including another flight across the Atlantic, but he thought it improbable that he would fly to the United States again before next year. It was learned that Dr. Eckener would fly the Graf Zeppelin to Berlin on Monday and pay a personal visit to President Paul Von Hindenburg. The Zeppelin will be moored in the suburb of staaken and placed on

exhibition. While officers and crew of the Graf Zeppelin were recuperating today from the strain of their flight, workmen already started improvements on the dirigible in her hangar here. Strengthening her framework was the first task, to be undertaken. While the spectacular Right of the Graf Zeppelin was universally eulogized, the concensus of the press today was that in trans-oceanic rivalry of airships, airplanes and steamers, the airship must remain in third place for a long time. o Pleasant Dale The revival at the Pleasant Dale church continues to Rev.
