SHIP REPORTED SINKING AT SEA New York .Oct. 3— U.R>— Radio reports received at the officer ot’ the U. S. steamship line today said the Dutch freighter Celeano was sinking in midocean at a psint approximately 1160 miles N by E of the Celaeno. The report came from the line’s steamer America which said it was speeding to the ship’s rescue although it was at that time approxicately 280 miles N by E f the Celaeno. Boston. Mass. Oct. 3—(U.R) — The American-Hawaiian steamer American reported to the tropical radio station this afternoon that she had reached the steamer Trawler Fillett at 1:15 o'clock p. m. and was standing by. 0 Young American Mail Bandit Caught In Canada Windsor, Ont., Oct. 3. — (U.R) — A young American mail train bandit faces possible death sentence today after rifling registered sacks of a Canadian National railways train as it sped between Windsor and Chatham, Ont. The loot is estimated between $30,000 and $50,000. A “dumb break’’ was blamed by the bandit, John Gibbs, of Los Angeles, for his capture by American immigration officers two hours after the holdup.
