HONORED GUESTS AT NEPTU'E HOME Dr and Mrs. James Q. Neptune. 229 South Second street, have as their guests during Old Home Week, Honorable and Mrs. U. G. Denman, of Toledo. Ohio. Mrs. Denman was formerly Miss Frances Neptune, a sister of Dr. Neptune. Mr Denman is a prominent attorney in Toledo, and has had the honor cf serving as Attorney Genet al of the State of Ohio. He is what might be termed "a self made man" who has finally reached his goal at the top of the ladder of achievement. ANNUAL REUNION OF UHRICK FAMILY The second annual reunion of the I Uhrick families was held at the home of George Uhrick two miles south of Monroe, on Sept. 2 The forenoon was spent in exchanging greetings and a delirious dinner was served at noon under the shade trees. Mr. Ewold Noack, of St. James, Reaver Island, Mich., arid Mrs. Edith Bischoff, of Fort Wayne, visited in Decatur Thursday afternoon and evening. .Mitchell Family Returns From Long Motor Tour William Mitchell, wife and son Ken net It arrived home last evening from a three thousand mile motor trip to Col ratio. They left here three weeks ago M nday, going to Ames, lowa, Frbm there to Shelton, Nebraska, and from there to Denver. They spent a day and a half in the mountains -and enjoyed every minute of the entire trip visiting a number of relatives. On the entire trip they spent only three nights away from relatives.

Berne Jeweler Striken With Paralysis Today Berne, Sept. 11-(Special)— David Bixler. 71, well-known Berne jeweler, was stricken with paralysis while at i wink iu his store here sometime this I moiling. He was found lying on the floor behind the counter in his store at !i o'clock this morning. Several perst ns liad beeu in the store previous to that time, but failing to see Mr. Bixler, had decided that he was out. Mr. Bixlers condition is regarded as serious. Ken'dull, general dairy agent. — —-c Passenger On First Train Into Decatur Is Still Living Here Mrs. Ellen Adelsperger, 81, 126 South : Sixth street, one of Decatur's pioneers was a passenger on the first steam train coming into Decatur, which was in 1871. In an interview with a Dally Democrat representative today, Mrs. Adelsperger said that that ride was one cf the outstanding experiences in iter lifo. Her first husband, tlie late Charles Batty, was the first station agent for the road, which was known as the Cincinnati, Richmond and Fort Wayne railroad. Mrs. Adelsperger has lived In j Decatur for 58 years and is happy to i call this city her home.
