She is reported to have attempted suicide after her husband, Vic Powell, former Fort Wayne trail le officer, deserted her at Sandpoint, driving uwuy in their new automobile, purchased just before they left for the west on May 3. The automobile was found abandoned at Spokane, but no trace of Powell was found. It had been reported in dispatches from Idaho that Mrs. Powell h?.d said that her husband wrote a check for SI,OOO on tier account on a Bluffton bank. No such check has appeared at the local bank and iuquiry here disclosed that, a request had been received here for tin advancement to the Powells and thut because the estate of the late Herschel Davis, former husband of Mrs. Powell, has uot been adjusted, there was no money foi an advancement. It was following the forwarding of such word that it was learned here that Powell had disappeared. o Get the Habib~*Traae at Home, it Pays
