Chicago 200 Fifth Avenue, New York Charter Members The Indiana League of Home Dallies Another Indiana joke—they’re talking about running Governor Ed Jackson for senator in two years. Allen county shows an increase of only 45 in the school enumeration for this }>ar, which is surprising in view of the growth in population in Fort Wayne. A survey of the delegates to the democratic state convention next week shows more than 800 in favor of Frank C. Dailey, for governor. It takes only 593 to nominate and from all appearances Dailey will be nominated on the first ballot. There is a state-wide demand for Mr. Dailey, everyone feeling that he is the man to do the job of cleaning up in Indiana. The latest high-jacketing stunt seems to be to hold up trucks loaded with silk stockings. Yesterday a couple of bandits held up a driver of a truck carrying $30,000 worth of hosiery from Fort Wayne to Chicago and made way with the fine silk stockings. The girls must demanded spine extra birthday gifts or the'boys'intended to do their Christmas shopping early. President and Mrs. Coolidge will spend their vacation in the wilds of Wisconsin, away from the campaign activities and we presume near a good fishing stream. Althought there is a daily current of gossip from the east or the Mellon wing of the republican party to draft Coolidge for the presidential race, the president has more than likely made up his mind not to run and is going to get as tar away as he can. Why be bothered with the presidency when you cun go fishing?
Secretary Hoover was given a good licking in the West Virginia primaries Tuesday, Senator Goff, favorite son trimming his sails in regular Watson fashion. Hoover stock seems to have taken a little drop and if the boys who are going to meet at two o'clock in the morning can tix it, he will not be nominated at the Kansas City convention. Governor Al Smith, proved the old time favorite on the democrat ticket and carried away the delegates, defeating Senator Jim Reed iu a two horse race. Six or seven young fellows pulled a slick one the other night in Indianapolis, when with sawed-off shot guns they held up a crowd of several hundred society people at the Broadmoor Country club and told their victims to throw their wallets, jewelry and diamonds into the sack, placed In the center of the floor. They got away with about $150,000, no one was hurt and it seemed so much like a joke to the crowd that they dffl not realize until later what had happened. It seems that if yen figure out something jiew or a clever way to hold them up, no one is going to stop you. Ora J. Davies, Kokomo young man who served four years as state treasurer. and who bis been found guilty of placing the state money in banks where he could get a rake-off of one per cent, escaped the penalty of the law in a Kokomo court. Yep, statutes of limitations. Same way Jacksou got
off. This is another nail to be placed in the political coffin of Mr. Harry G. Leslie, the present republican candidate for governor. Harry, as speaker of the house, stopped probe "proposed by the democrats and thus protected just such fellows as Davies and Jackson. The state still has u civil case against Davies in the shape of eleven thousand dollars in "commission*” on stale funds.—Bluffton Banner. if ..mi1..., A school house, once upon a time, was a plain building containing several rows of desks and a few blackboards. It was used for educating children and had no secondary uses But changing times have made the school house over into something else agniH. A memorandum from the Department of the Interior points out that school houses now are fast being converted into community centers, with facilities for directing and organizing the spare time activities of many people, young and old. Playgrounds, more and more are centering about the school houses. Extension study dubs for adults meet there. The main auditorium of a school house is often used as a theater and lecture hall in the evenings. The , gymnasium ministers to the need of youngsters long after school hours. Truly, the times are changing. No longer do a few rows of desks and a blackboard or two make a school house. Indeed, they sometimes seem the least important bit of furniture in the place.—Connersville News Examiner. • o *♦**¥*•»•*■*♦**♦ * BIG FEATURES * * OF RADIO * «¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥ K

THE NEW KONJOLA REGULATED HER ENTIRE SYSTEM Suffered For Years With Stomach Trouble And Constipation, Now Enjoys Good Health
I MRS. IRA WILLIAMS “In my opinion Konjola is the most effective medicine for the ordinary ailments that was ever sold in a drug store." said Mrs. Ira Williams, 15'17 Vigo St., Vincennes. Ind. "My suffering was so intense at limes that 1 didn't care if I lived, or not. For years I had been doctoring on account of my disordered stomach and kidneys and one of the doctors Said I had gall stones. 1 couldn’t eat a meal without dreadful gas bloating, pains around the heart and other miseries. Owing to weak kidneys I -was subject to severe pains across the back. Constipation added to my miseries and nervousness prevented me from getting more than a few hours sleep at night. “After taking Konjola for one week, I was surprised at Ihe marked change in my health. All the stomach miseries disappeared and my kidneys were strengthened, constipation was relieved and all sign of nervousness is gone. I sleep, eat and work better than I did for a long time and I feel much better for it." Konjola is sold tn Decatur at the Smith. Yager & Falk drug store and by all the best druggists In all towns throughout this entire section.
