On the morning took her departure to be with her Lord whom sbipoved and served. The years of her®pilgrimage exceeded yie promissed "three score and ten” she having attained ihe advanced age of 79 years, 4 months and 9 days. While in youth, she heard the voice of God calling for the service of her life, and at 18 years of age to the call, was happily converted, joined the M- E. Church at Willshire, and remaWod faithful to her Savior and God to the end. November 22, 1880 she was united in holy wedlock to Joseph Shilling, in whom she found a true, faithful and “< distant companion for. over 47 years. Beginning theg; marleiHife near Rockford, Ohio, liter they lived near Willshire. After some yeifci; they moved to Adams County, Indiana, living in the ' vicinity of Decatur. A number of years were spent near the St- Paul’s Christian UniomChurch, where they became members and among the people cf which church they formed many precious friendships and had many blessed experiences. In 1912, Mr. Shilling purchased a faun Decatur, on the state line, where Mrs, Shilling, with her companion ,be£iiii attending the Calvary Evangelical Church nearby, and shortly thereafter joined the church, remaining a faithful member until translated to the (6 Church Triumphant. home was hlessed with two. children, one son, Lewis Shilling, otf the home farm; and one daughter, .Mary G. Zerkel, living near Decatur. Mother Shilling jyas a woman of the so-called “old school". She was hardy frank fearless, courageous, rightfully ambitious, honest, kind, and aways ready to help. She had staunch convictions and always the courage of her convictions. She had splendid intellectual gifts. She was a true wife and mother, and faithfully in her own home. She was a kind neighbor and always ready to share with her neighbors and friends and God’s servants, life’s temporal blessings. Her home was always the welcomed retreat of the weary or needy servant of God; and he knew 11 mattered not whether his sojourn Wfi re only for a meal or a week there would be the same hearty welcome. Mrs. Shilling was a positive, staunch ( hristian. She had rare gifts in prayer convervation, extortion, and she was tt Sfeat student of the Word, and undestood its spiritual message. The family altar was maitftainefcl in this home to the end, it was Mother Shilling's desire that since she was not so well of recent months, she might go home before her beloved Companion, and that she might not continue with a long lingering sickness. How wonderfully God granted her desire! Together the were Permitted to live alone up to a week a So when she was stricken with a fa- ' tal illness. Though her sudden departure is naturally trying to the loved ones, and especially to the faithful companion of over 47 years, still they realize God’s goodness in granting her ' desire and they bow in greatful still- 1 mission. At most, it will not he long until there will be the reunion in Hea- 1

Besides the sorowing husband, nnd th son .inti daughter, there survive two brothers, John Troutner, of Los Angeles, California; and Amos Troutner, of near Decatur; 5 grand children and -in unusually large group of friends and old neighbors, who also mourn their loss. We thank God for this Christian woman's life. May He help us all to )*•» faithful as was she, and may He grant us a final reunion in Heaven. “Life! We've been so long together. The records a*year, And like voices' that come from the ocean Are the muffled words I hear. I see the chin of friendship. Death never had power to part; One link is under the water, The other is rojtnd my heart. I hear, from the depths of the j-iver, Sweet words that my spirit thrill. We are parted, but not forever; We are living and loving still. And my soul no more is lonely, Nor throbs with a sense of pain. For the loved, who were once mine only, I know will be mine again. Darkness waves may close o’er the vision, Storms drive me away from the shore But hope, like the lamp of a Vestal, Dies out in my soul no more. Flow on, mysterious river, Flow on to eternity's sea; By faitli and a holy endeavor, The futhure hath bliss for mo.” 0 Funeral text 2 Timothy 4:7-8.
