OTTO HOLLE WINS MEDAL Otto Holle, well-known Union town-1 ship farmer, has added another med-, al to his long list of winnings iu the production of purebred livestock. Mr. Holle has been a consistent winner In the various clubs conducted by the agricultural agent, cooperating with Pttrdue University, and tnis time his success was accomplished in a different project. He has just tniished feeding a calf in the Booster 1,000-pound rolf c'.nb, that weighed 932 pounds at one year of age, winning for him a silver medal. The 1,090-pound calf club is a club thgt offers a gold medal for anyone who produces a beef calf that weighs 1,000 pounds when one year of age. A silver medal is offered for those weighing from 900 to 1000 pounds and a bronze medal for those weighing from 800 to 900 pounds. The call that made this fine record for Mr. Holle is a purebred Shorthorn male. The calf is one of the many nurebreds Mr. Holle lias on his farm iltd is a fine specimen of the Short-

Mr. Holle states this cow and calf were fed ordinary farm feeds, receiving a grain mixture of corn aud oats while on pasture last summer, and silage clover and soyIbean hay throughout the winter. The calf was allowed to run with the cow until 10 mouths of age. Some ground oats and corn were also fed during 1 the last two months of the feeding period.
