LEGION FLANS FOR CONVENTION Save-To-Travel System Arranged For Legionnaires Going To Meet The Peoples Loan and Truct eompany bank in this city has been made [ an authorized depository for the American Legion Convention Savings accounts. The Legion convention committee, realizing that the attendance at the convention to be held in , San Antonio, Texas, October 8 to 12, is primarily controlled by the avail- | ability of funds for the individual, 1 has entered into a cooperative arrangement with the Save-to-Travcl , Association, a non-commercial organization of banks and transportation ' lines. This association has placed its large bank membership at the ser- I vice of the Legion, giving Legionnaires the privilege of saving their j funds in its Vacation-Travel Clubs, | thus making available to them at- ! tractive club privileges in addition to j the special convention privileges. The fact that the American Legion ! anticipates an attendance of more than one hundred thousand at San Antonio, Texas, places their convention among the most interesting and important events of the year. The enthusiasm aroused by the success of the Paris convention warrants the officers of the Legion in making elaborate and interesting plans (or this I year's gathering. San Anttmio, Texas, the chosen ’ convention city, and its surrounding . territory, have sufficient attractions I in themselves to make a visit of un- ' usual interest to all who can afford I to go. Beautifully situated, and known as the city "where the sunshine spends the winter” it is the seat of an ancient Spanish civilization and one of the chosen playgrounds of America. Spanish customs still cling and the soft note of the guitar with its vocal accompaniment, is still common in the gathering . places of the city's "Little Mexico." ... ■■ — ——-o ——-— Burns And Baxter Are Indicted At Lafayette Lafayette, Ind .
