Wilson Beery was hostess to ! the members of the Historical Club. : Wednesday afternoon at her home on X rth Third street. The program for • the afternoon was in the charge of Mm. M. J. Wertzberger, who read a must interesting paper on “Famous Mun of Industry". Mrs. Wertzberger's paper was most instructive and included brief biographies of several of the noted inventors of America. Alexander Graham Hell, inventor of the telephone; George Eastman, electrician aad discoverer of the kodak; Thus. A. Edison, inventor of the phonorraph and many electrical appliances; Henry Ford, the automobile man; Isaac Merrick Singer who perfected the Suger Sewing Machine, all came in for "teir share of mention in the pal"U'. er meeting in a body. PSI IOTA XI TO ENTERTAIN INSPECTORS The Psi lota Xi Sorority will entertain. next Thursday evening, at the Country Chib, for their Inspectress, Mim. Helen Van Cleve Leonard, of Hartford City Promptly at six o’clock, a dinner will be nerved in the parlors of the Club House, after which the annual inspection will be* held. It is very important that all members of the Sorority be present at the meeting and they are urged to make reservations with Fan Hamnull not later than Monday noon. N. AND T. CLUB PLAN CHARITY WORK The N. and T. Club enjoyed a pleasant afternoon, Wednesday, at the home of Mrs. Claude Forman. Ten members were present and the afternoon was spent in sewing and social conversation. Plans were made for some charity work which will feature the next meeting to be held with Mrs. Earl Fuhrman. BONA FIDE CLUB MEETS WEDNESDAY Two tables were arranged for Bridge. Wednesday afternoon, when Mrs. Fred Blosser was hostess to the members of the Bona Fide Club at her home on North Seventh street. Prizes for high score during the afternoon were awarded to Mrs. Ed Boknecht and Mrs. Harry Merry. At the closg of the game, a delicious lunch was served in two courses by the hostess. The next meeting will he held in two weeks with Mrs. Harry Merry. TWELVE-YEAR-OLD CELEBRATES THIRD BIRTHDAY Master Edward Lose, age twelve years, celebrated his third birthday anniversary, Wednesday afternoon, from four until seven o’clock, at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Lose, West Elm street. Eighteen boy friends gathered to assist in the celebration. Tables were arranged in the living rooms of tlie home and the youngsters enjoyed a series of seven game of Rhum. Herbert Foos was the winner and was rewarded with a lovely prize. At six o'clock, the doors of the dining room were opened and the children beheld a long table, with tall tapers glowing at either end. In the center, three birthday cakes, one for each birthday, rere arranged in a semi-circle. On aeh cake, four candles burned, representative of the real age of the bniored guest. In the semicircle

Miss Baughman was an honored guest at a dinner Wednesday evening, at her home nn West Madison street. Covers at the table were laid for Mrs. Frank Fisher, Miss Ireta Fisher, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Bouifas, Mr ami Mrs. C. E. Baughman and Miss Bertha Baughman. The honored guest was the recipient of sevural cards and presents, among them a gorgeous bouquet of roses.
