M. PLEASANT MILLS THANKSGIVING SOCIAL The Pleasant Mills M. E. Aid Society will give its annual Thanksgiving Social Wednesday evening Nov. 23. There will be a bazaar, chicken supper and three-cent supper. For six weeks, the ladies have been divided into two groups, each of whiuh has tried to make more money than the other by sewing baking and selling lifferent articles. This contest will end at three o'clock Wednesday afternoon, and the winning group will be announced at nine o'clock in the evening. The proceeds of the supper, bazaar and money from each side will go in the general fund. Besides the bazaar pnd supper, which begins at five o’clock, in the M. E. church basement, the ladies have planned many more surprises for the public and the large crowd which have signified their intention of being there. The Public isinvited to attend. • Personals Mrs. Wm. Phillips and daughter Lavetna, of Kenton, Ohio, spent Sunday with E. C. Phillips and family in this city. Glen Hill. Ralph Yager, Carl Gerber and Lhottis Mclntosh motored to Columbus Ohio Saturday where they attended the Ohio'State-Illinois football game. Elder J. L. Klim-, of Adams county, will be engaged in evangelistic work for the next several weeks at Cerre Gordo, and Decatur, Illinois. Elder Kline's meeting will begin on Thanksgiving night. Miss Lila Harrod, who has been very critically ill for several days past, continues to lie in a stupor from which it seems impossible to arouse her. Miss Harrod is being cared for al the home of her sister, Mrs. Charity Hooper, North Second Mrs. Belle Kephart, of Toledo, Is spending the winter with the J. W. Merriman family. Mrs. Kephart is a sister of Mis. Merriman and for many years conducted a beauty parlor in Toledo.

MICHIGAN MAN IS KILLED NEAR DECATUR SUNDAY (COXTIXVED ritOSI PAGE <>XE> of Kirkland township, and the Rev. O. H. Scherry, of Vera Cruz, were riding. The ear was badly damaged, but neither of the occupants were injured. Three Decatur physicians performed an operation on Mrs. Rathfon this morning, and reduced the fracture of Iter left limb. The fracture was a very severe one. The femur bone was splintered, at a point about seven inches above the knee, into three nieces. Two of the splinters of bone prodded through the flesh of the thigh. Mrs. Rathfon was on the operation table for three hours while 'he fracture was being reduced. Her pulse is very weak and she is suffering terribly from shock and loss of blood. Mrs. Rathfon has numerous cuts and bruises on her Imdy which are, in themselves, serious, hut rate .as minor injuries when compared with the leg fracture. Mr. Rathfon's body will be shipped o Detroit, his former home, tomorrow morning, and funeral services will be held at that city. o Monoxide Gas Fatal To T.wo Men In Their Garages; Chicago. Olson, 31, was found dead in his garage by his wife who said he had gone to warm up the car before driving to church, Georgt Harrison, 35, met a similar fate while woijrlng on his car with the garage door shut. 0 Brazil (UP) Russell Dix, truck driv er for the Dilling Candy company of Indianapolis was driving through brazil recently when a large double wheel which had been hurled from a speeding motor-bus, came hurling down the street.
