Averaging thirty-eight ears a minue, Butt husked 1845 pounds. Cecil Miles, of Warren county, with 22.46 bushels; and liarry Etter, Beuton county, with 22.28 bushels, were second aud third respectively, out of the eleven contestants. VERMONT HSUS FOR ASSISTANCE Washington, Nov. 10 —HNS) "Onrj losses have been so great that wa wiili need all the aid the government and j the Red Cross can give," said a telegram received by President Coolidga today from Gov. John E. Meeks, in flood-stricken Vermont. The Goveruor, however, did not ask for any particular kind of federal aid. j — - ——l>- - — Bainbridge Colby Wins Round In Divorce Action Paris. Nov 10.—(INS)— Balubrtdge Colby, secretary of state in President Wilson’s cabinet, Jias been authorized to demand a divorce by the tribunal of Versailles, it was learned today. The tribunal, in a decree dated October 29. admitted Colby's application and overrode 4he application made by Mrs. Colby before the Seine tribunal. The decision favoring came after an investigation by the court of Mrs. Colby's attitude towards a reconciliation. Mrs. Colby filed an application for divorce before the Seine tribunal in December, 1925. That courv set April 22, 1926, as fhd date for a reconcill ’ ition hearing. Mrs. Colby, however, did not appear , at the set .hearing. / t Colby then filed an application for 1 livorce before the Versailles court I stating that the attitude of his wife , had not rhauged since the filing of j her application. Frie, 35, of Fort Wayne, was sentenced to serve a term of one to three years in the state prison at Michigan City on a charge of burning personal property, by Special Judge W. N. Ballou, at Fort Wayne, yeateriay. Frie was found guilty recently on ! i charge of setting fire to his resi- ! leuce. In his trial, Frie attempted to ;>rove an alibi that he was in Berne it the time of the fire. Several Berne esidents testified at his trial. Issue Os Treasury Bonds Oversubscribed Two And One-Half Times Washington, Nov. 10. —(INS) —The United States is still iu a fair condiion of prosperity. Treasury officials reached this contusion today when the books closed on the offering of $409,000,000 in teven-month, 3 1-8 per cent treasury tonds.
