Greenwait Tells , Os His Experiences During World War J, Two outstanding services marked ; the program of the MeWiodist Eplsco- : pal church of this city yesterday ’ The morning service, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. 11. The evening meetings, given over to an “Armistic” program, was so well ' attended that it looked for a few minutes as if the spacious aduitorium i would not hold the people. This was the first of the church "Pleasant Sun lay ffvenings for Profit" s-1 tor states that the size of the audience was gratifying indeed and that the pro- ■ I gram disappointed no one. The first ■ part of the program was given over to • general singing, followed by a male luartette. Mrs. Dan Tyndall sang "On Flanders Field, to the tune of the Rosily. This was very impressively sung ■ and in complete accord with the occa- ■ lion. ('aptain I?. E. Greenwait, an officer in the Rainbow division during the world war, who had been invited as the speaker cf the evening, delivered i, touching and appealing address. He told his personal experience under fire . as a chaplain. These experiences were filled with close-ups of caring for the wounded and dying in the front lines where lie served for so many months In relating these experiences, he was determined to tell what his comrade were either too modest or too timid to tell. He said ne wanted the world t< know the horrors of war and that the object in telling of his personal experiences was that’this same world needs to be reminded "Lest We Forget”. For more than an hour, the speakei leld his audience, here and there injecting a bit of humor to relieve the tense moments of vivid descriptions. At the close of the address, the pas tor informed the audience that there was a penalty for attending these "Pleasant Sunday Evenings for profit", and that was that every person there was required to shake hand* with al least five people who were no! ' n their own crowd. . ... o — SEVERAL AUTO CRASHES OCCUR ICOSTIM tai FHOM PAGE UNB) j roe. The coupe, which belonged to Lloyd I Seal, was turned completely over.
